Exclamation A few questions that are annoying me...

Hey guys,

New to the forums here so forgive me, haha.

Right so i got this phone yesterday, absolutely excellent device for the money, however here's a few points i'd like to ask about:

Is there any way on earth i can choose where my default saving location is? Like on any other phone you usually specify; either 1. in the settings or 2. just as you're downloading a file.

I have an 8GB Micro SD card in my phone, it works because i have music on it. And of-course I've got the internal memory of the phone itself.

What i want to be able to do is, when downloading applications from the android market, i want the applications to save to my Memory Card (Micro SD) instead of the phone memory.

At the minute i'm sitting on like 10 MB Free of phone memory, i have a limited space for my applications therefore i only have a few.

Please let me know, this is getting on my nerves.

Cheers,

Alan

I don't think you can actually install directly to the SD (although some install by default I think. Andgry Birds for example), but you can move them there after they've been installed. You can do it by the following (I'll use the Kindle app as an example, but you can replace the Kindle app with any app you want -

Settings -> Applications -> Manage Applications -> Amazon Kindle -> Move to SD.

That should free up some memory for you.

Also, I don't believe it's possible to specify where you save stuff too? Are you saying it's saving pics/vids to phone memory by default? As a workaround, you can install a 3rd Party Camera app, Camera 360 for example; that will let you specify where you want stuff saved too.

The phone come with Android 2.1 originally, so you'll need to flash a 2.2 ROM to be able to move apps to SD card. You won't be able to move all apps, and even those that do move will still use some internal memory (but the majority of the app will be on SD). Also, any app with a widget can't be moved to SD or they'll stop working.
