My rooted SF has been working fine. I deleted some apps from my phone as it was getting a bit sluggish (YouTube, Your Orange) and cleared the cache on my gmail. Since I've done that I keep getting the error message "the application Launcher (process com.android.launcher2) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again". This repeatedly pops up which is effectively locking me out of the phone and I can't get into any settings to try and fix it.
I've tried doing a reset but it hangs on the FTM screen and doesn't do anything else.
Any ideas?
Thanks!

When I connect the phone via usb to the pc I can see that debugging is on from the top bar - I just can't do anything!
I'd be willing to try anything - I did see the TPT method in some of the forums but I could do with some help in understanding exactly what I would have to do.
Download the zip file from that, then follow the instructions for the install. Once setup, connect the phone to the PC open a command prompt, navigate to the SDK-tools folder you created and type adb devices. That will help me ascertain if USB Debugging is enabled and what we need to do next. If you see your phones serial number, we should be good to go.
I need to head out for a bit so if you want to hang fire with trying the above till later, and I can go in to a little more detail if you want? If it all looks ok, then fire on, post the results and I can see what we need to do when I'm back.

Excellent, you have USB Debugging on which means you should be able to get a custom ROM on there which should sort your issue.
Are your contacts etc backed up to gmail? Because you don't have access to your phone, your data will be wiped unfortunately, but at least you'll have your phone. Also, do you remember if you were a Gen 1 or Gen 2? If that means nothing, when did you get your phone?

I don't think they are backed up but thats my own stupid fault for not making sure that they were! Its not a big deal. I think its a gen1 - I bought it from Argos I think. Either that or Tesco about 14 months ago.
Thanks again for all this - I really appreciate it!
I think I've updated the drivers ok but when I turn the phone on with the vol up button pressed down for 5 secs the green man doesn;t stay on the screen and the phone boots up as normal.

That's annoying. Try volume down (although I'm pretty sure that won't work either). Also, try connecting the phone and use ADB commands (similar to the post a few up) and type adb reboot bootloader after adb devices.
If it doesn't work, we'll go for TPT.
