Default Connect to tmobile on orange phone?

I'm thinking about taking out a contract with orange for 24 months but I've tried out a payg sim and I'm only getting 2-3 bars in my house whereas im getting 4 on tmobile. I live In a built up city area in case that's relevant.

If I force my phone to connect to the orange-tmobile network instead of orange then I get full bars as expected since I'm now on tmobile.

So... Does anyone know if your allowed to force your phone to tmobile while on an orange contract? And by doing this will I affect any other services eg voicemail etc

Thanks for your help

Orange actually advise you to use the dual networking.
You used to be only able to get G internet speeds, but now they have sorted all that and you get full HSPD speeds now.

Doesn't effect anything with the exception of a better signal.

btw you can't just use Tmobile signal while on Orange. it has to be either Orange or Orange/ Tmobile.
