Default Optimus Logic?

Im posting this in here because I cant find a forum for the specific device. And I feel this is where its most likely to be seen.

Im thinking about picking up the LG Optimus Logic. Its like 80 bucks and runs off AT&T towers. I have a prepaid Optimus Net wich I like a lot but Sprint coverage isnt as good as I would like. My questions are does anyone have this phone? If so has anyone rooted it yet? Also how is the display? Thank you in advance guys.

Phone is a complete and total disaster. Walmart is getting it back.
First of all the battery cover is too small for the phone. It cant be properly attached . The logic ran great for a few hours. Very fast and smooth. I hooked the phone up to wifi and downloaded a few apps, and the phone prompted me to update the software. So I did. Now the phone slows down gradually to just short of frozen in about thirty minutes of up time. It seems as if the processor is underclocking itself slowly to about 196mhz and just getting stuck there. Phone is so slow i cant use it. Its bizzare. Ill be really surprised if there isn't a recall on it. Steer clear of the logic guys.

This seems like a nice phone. Wish I could get adb sdk to find it. Maybe someone will come along with advice.

You have the Optimus Logic?
Do you mean, when you type "adb devices", nothing comes up?

That is correct.

I tried One Click also which can read the model & gets to pushing su file but says "failed to get root shell". (Wording isn't exact)

Default New user New phone

Hi guys, this my first android phone since my G1. Before I just had a crappy flip phone.

I think the reviewer above got a bad phone, I've had mine for about a week, now. No slow down, but is probably slow compared to a Galaxy. One thing I noticed and maybe all smart phones are like this. It only has 118mb to install apps on. I thought that was rather limited.

I have not tried to root it yet, as I am a newb. But if somebody figures it out I would like to know. I'm wondering if Jellybean's improvements would help it. And hey Jellybean!

Oh and this is my first post, so Hi!

Another thing. I have 2 music players on here. I don't need 2 but they are there and I can't get rid of either. And does anyone know if you can access books on you sd card with the Google Books app? I can't seem to. Using FBreader right now, and it's doing alright.

Your probably right about not needing 2 but if we do get root for this then make a backup before deleting because one of them probably isn't just a music player but controls something else.

Thanks but as you can see it is already rooted. As far is I know my wife's was the first one rooted. That is where Jcase got root. It was assume to watch him work.

When you open Superuser slide to the screen far left. Tap ota survival. Superuser will ask for permission. Allow Superuser & you are good to go.

If you seen the # during the process that is root so you should be good to go.

My "abd device" list wouldn't show my phone either, until I downloaded those drivers and it worked fine. That's why I was pointing him that way.

Got my rom and everything else backed up. Now I'm going to install the latest cynogenmod. So not Jelly bean but I'll take icecream sandwich.

When you say backedup are you saying a nandroid or a TB? Are you sure about CM & ICS?

I used Rom Manager https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.koushikdutta.rommanager&feature=nav _result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDMsImNvbS5rb3VzaGlrZHV0dGE ucm9tbWFuYWdlciJd

and to do the back up and restore. Worked flawlessly with my contacts and everything. It makes an image of your system I believe.

As for CM I got the Mod here CyanogenMod Downloads

It is CM9 which is Ice Cream Sandwich. CM 10 is Jelly Bean but there isn't a rom for that yet.

This looks like experimenting & I hate to put something on the open forum that might brick someone's phone so can you gtalk me at kingmt01@gmail.com ? A PM would work also but I'd like to talk in real time.

Yes the L3/E400 seems to be the same phone. But with any rooting and changing of roms you may brick your phone. Try at your own risk. I bricked this one. Found the recovery boot is "volume down, home button, power button" Hold the first two down then push your power until the lg logo shows up and let go.

That recovery only works after flashing CWM. Before flashing it will do a factory reset.

How did you soft brick your phone? I take it that ROM Manager CWM restore works on this phone. I've flushed it & did a backup but not tired a restore yet.

How is CM 9 working?

At one point it would only show the boot screen for CM9. I had to create a folder in my sd card "/clockworkmod/backup/" and put my backed up rom in there. But I was lucky I had clockworkmod to begin with, it took me forever to figure out how to boot into it. I looked around for the recovery boot mode and nothing worked.

CM9 does not give me cell service or wifi service, can't find any carries, says there was an error. So I switched back. But if there comes a stable version that works on it, then I'll switch over.

Did you try manually setting up the APN?

Wi-Fi probably needed the permissions set.
*Try this. Go to etc/dhcpcd/ dhcpcd-hooks go to properties & change permissions. Mark all the boxes. rwx *

Any other problems? any other experiments. If I could get the phone out of my wife's hands I'd like to try myself.

Are you on Straight Talk Or Net10?

I'm on straight talk. But no I didn't mess with the APN or wifi permissions. I'll give that a try and report back on it.

"please help. i have done this step by step and my phone is yet to have root access. i see the # during the process can someone walk me through it quickly?

Dan give me a little bit of time and I'll post a tutorial for it.

For APN settings I would suggest Tweaker but since Wi-Fi isn't working you have to do it manually. Go to Wireless & Networking/Mobile Networks/Access Point Names.

Edit:CM 9 will probably be a different path if it is ICS. Sorry I didn't think about that before. I've never even seen ICS or CM so it is hard to guess.

If I get a chance I'll try to get it on my wife's phone so I can look at it. I downloaded it last night but the MD5 sum didn't match what was on the site so I trashed it & downloaded again. They match this time but I don't have the phone in my hands to try it.

If I get a chance I'll try to get it on my wife's phone so I can look at it. I downloaded it last night but the MD5 sum didn't match what was on the site so I trashed it & downloaded again. They match this time but I don't have the phone in my hands to try it.
The APN was giving me problems doing it manually. Couldn't get it do anything with Wifi, but I'm still researching.

They have made it past that. Said something about making a directory he shouldn't have but out was a directory that should have already been there. I'm waiting on him to reply to find out what is going on instead of guessing.

I gave it a try myself. Like to never to get past the boot screen. I can get it to save the APN settings after I put them in. There is no file explorer to adjust permissions ether. I already switched back to the stock ROM before I thought about bluetoothing a apk to it. I don't know how to make it save the APN tho. It may be a permission thing also.

CM9 seems to run pretty well for the limited amount of time I played with it. If it were able to get WIFI and cell service I could keep it as a daily rom.

If anybody finds the solution the help would be greatly appreciated. The apn setting wont save.

I found out why the APNs won't save. It erases your IMEI when you flash it. I don't know whitch files need copied copied yet or where they need to go back after they are flashed. It is kinda hard to play with since it is my wife's & she wants to play with it herself.

No clue on the WiFi yet. I haven't even begun to look at it. I do know it isn't the permissions for dhcp. May be scrip for the wrong modem. If anyone else is working on this I'd like to share information.

Found a few other bugs but they may be linked to these two so first things first.

*Edit*
*If anyone is going to work on WiFi I'd suggest looking at the modem settings. Make sure they are the right ones.*

Alas maybe someone with more knowledge than us will make the rom. I definetly do not like the system memory on this though. It's just over 100 but you can't get near that installing apps. I can install about 4 apps max with this. Going to partition my sd card and install on there.

Just delete what you don't want from the phone. Move want can be moved.

It won't work with a card formatted to ext3 or it didn't what I tried. I am going to try & port this thing when I get a machine set up.

I haven't looked but it will probably be a few months before you find one made for it but you may find something close. Try a search for the e 400.

Sweet. I'm still waiting on my PC. Glad someone else decided to take this on. I still have to teach myself how so it may have taken a while.

I asked for a LGL35G forum but haven't received a answer. Maybe more PMs would show them how many people are interested.

Edited: Because my spelling sucked.
