Update and Root

So I've never done an OTA update on a phone that was rooted before.

I do know that if I download and install the update I will lose the root and will have to do it again.

My question is, since I am rooted will the phone be reset back to factory if i download and install the latest update? Or will i lose any data?

I'm rooted, I updated, and the phone was not hard reset. I just had to reapply the root scripts.

You will lose root but nothing else.
