Default 4 g fix?

was curious, got my photon a few months if that ago. i soft rooted it i guess (can get it into recovery via wall charger only)you could say, didnt want to break the 4G issue. so technically i am rooted but tired of the stock rom, is there a way to install the roms without loosing 4G.i was going to install Clockwork recovery and make a backup but not sure if installing that breaks the 4G or if its the rom itself?
was wondering if anyone could shed some light.
essentially i want to ditch the stock rom and debloat it as well.
thanX in advance.

Unfortunately unlocking still breaks 4g. And so your only clockworkmod option is bootstrap recovery ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1250697 ) with which you can only flash roms and mods that say they are for "locked".

I sympathize with being sick of the stock rom -- best solution for my own need for more customizing lately was to flash this to clean things up and then go crazy trying launchers:
