Default Petition the U.S. Government to Reform current patent law

https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/petition/reform-current-patent-application-and-acceptance-process/y0VxXJrG

we all know that the current U.S. Patent law is outdated and outrageous...let's try and get 25000 signatures so that the u.s. government attempts to do something about it.

have to play devils advocate here.... since one of the primary arguments for this is so companies dont have to waste their time in court defending their patents

can you really say they need this to stop wasting their time in court? wouldnt it be easier for them to just stop submitting silly patents then they wont have to defend them?

ex: a guy has to waste his time in court defending his patent on a round ball...... wouldnt it have been simpler for him not to patent a round ball ..... considering every ball is round and hes going to have to constantly defend that silly patent

we dont need some reform to save people from themselves

now as far as reform due to the waste of court resources.... that I can get behind..... they should strip the rest of that silly crap from their argument

Honest question, has a single one of these petitions actually become law or even been voted on in Congress?

I don't think you understand. The petition is to prevent people/companies from being able to obtain silly patents...like a rounded rectangle.
