I believe my problem is one of the many "kitkat" problems but I can't seem to get it to be resolved in a reliable manner. I bought the tablet and almost immediately it got upgraded to kitkat so I do not have a before/after comparison either.
In my home network, I notice two problems with my new NVIDIA Tegra Note 7 tablet:
1. Over the 10 days or so that I have used my tablet at home every day it loses the connection (at a weak wifi spot or after mid-night) but can not re-connect. When I select the network, it says "connecting" for few seconds (very fast) then does not connect. The first time it happened I was able to get it to connect again by removing the tablet from "accounts.google.com" security list and rebooting, although, I was doing many things that I saw online at the same time so I can not tell whether this is the one that worked. But appears random. The most reliable solution is to reboot my router (several generations of tablets and phones with android are working just fine on that network).
2. Whatever network I was connected to at work stays connected even at home (but does not work) with an "orange" wifi icon. I have to disconnect manually before I can connect to my home network. The same problem does not appear to be there when going between two different networks elsewhere.
I have used it on several work and home networks elsewhere (mainly in USA, now I am in Spain) but I did not notice any problems like this.
The only solution that made sense to me so far involves rooting the tablet and editing /etc/hosts file which I am familiar with being a linux user but I have not rooted the tablet. If that is a true solution, I can consider it.
Any suggestions/solutions/advice?
