Root How to remove CWM recovery!

Today i will show you how to completely remove CWM recovery, from your phone.
Lots of people try to root their phones but most of them fail or just unroot leaving the CWM in the phone.
People want to get rid of CWM because it might void your warranty.
Follow this tutorial and save 30$ by not going to a service shop.

Lets get started! :turtle:

1. Download a program called Odin (link: Odin download )
2. After you download Odin extract it to a folder somewere.
3. Go to your phone and open the phone app.
4. Type in *#1234#
5. A menu should pop up.
6. Write the codes down

It should be something like this:

PDA: XXXXXXXXXXXX
PHONE: xxxxxxxxxxxxxx
CSC: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

In your case the X is a letter or number.
ONLY WRITE DOWN THE PDA PHONE AND CSC CODES!!!

7. Go to google and type in the Codes you wrote down in this order:

PDA,PHONE,CSC

You do not need to type in the words pda phone csc.

8. You have to search for the right files on your own!
I sugest you search here: tsar3000

9. download the right file if its a zip archive open it and extraxt the .md5 file somewere.

NOW COMES THE SCARY PART!

10. turn off your phone

11. put the phone in download mode

volume down+home+power

12. if it asks you if you are you shure press VOLUME UP to continue

13. A android logo should apear and it should say download mode or downloading.

14. connect the phone to a usb while its in download mode

15. Go to your PC and open ODIN

16. A wierd screen should pop up dont worry

17. Press the PDA button in odin

18. A selection screen should pop up.

19. navigate to the .md5 file we downloaded earlier and choose it

20. It should return you back to odin

21. Just click the start button in Odin and wait!

22. After its done there should be a green squere saying PASS

23. your phone should reboot automaticaly

24. Thats it CWM is out of your system and now you can OTA update and enjoy your phone!:p ;)

If you have questions or problems post on my thread i read it! :)

WARNING THIS HAS BEEN TESTED: ON SAMSUNG GALAXY MINI 2 GT-s6500D
BUT IT SHOULD WORK ON OTHER PHONES!!!
IF IT DOESENT POST ON MY THREAD AND I WILL TRY TO FIND A SOLUTION!!!

Hello, i have a question about this ,

if i use odin and stock firmware to remove cwm it adds a count to my flash counter,

to counter this i have to re-root / triangle away / unroot via super su,

which again leaves cwm behind ,

so i factory reset / wipe cache / reinstall stock via odin to remove cwm (as above) and thats all fine ,, but ,,,,,

flash counter is again +1

i need 0 flash count / official firmware / device status normal to send phone for a warranty repair due to faulty charging port, but i cannot get everything back to normal ,,

kies stuck phone in a "firmware upgrade error - use kies recovery" loop,

so flashed again with odin and all ok, but still have + number on flash counter ??!!??!!

please help a new forum member (but long time samsung user)

thanks

Well giving you back stock rom does count as a flash and cannot be un-done without re rooting and still the CWM is there. When returning the phone back i highly doubh that the service centre will check your flash counter belive me i have given my phone to oficial samsung centres and they just fixed it without cheking any system info (and yes its on waranty)

Hi,

I was rooting my phone and had a similar issue that i was not able to go to CWM recovery mode even after flashing the recovery. I realized that this problem was occurring as the stock rom of the device was not proper. I later removed the CWM and flashed the stock rom by following the steps given by you.

Later i was able to flash CWM and go to recovery mode successfully and root my cell without any problem. Your article helped me a lottt :)

Hi everybody,

I have a problem, and I think it's because I installed Rom Manager and put up CWM. Now I can't use my internal sd! Now my file explorer says it's my external sd, and files can't be erased from an external sd. I can't save any screenshots because it can't be saved to my internal sd. I can't get any pictures from telegram or whatsapp, because it has to be saved to my internal sd.

Please help me, I don't want to reset to stock mode.

Hi,
I am using JOdin 3 Casual under Ubuntu 16.04, trying to reflash stock Android on Samsung GT-S5830. I installed CWM and I do try to remove it, before I try reflash (or shouldn't I?).

Anyway, I got stuck, as JOdin does not see my phone. What I get in the message window is "<ID:0/008> Added!!Device Not Detected"

Please advise, as I am supposed to have this phone reflashed for my friend ASAP.
