Rooted Envizen tablet, but camera doesn't work afterwards

I purchased an Envizen V100MD T recently, and me being the way I am, wanted things to be my way. SO I rooted the tablet with a program called Root Genius. I tried several other options, this was the only one that worked.

The downside to this is that both front and rear cameras ceased to function. I tried several camera apps, all saying Cannot Connect to Camera

Has anyone else had experience with this? I would really like to load a custom rom and/or kernel but I have not figured out how to get a custom recovery installed. Both TWRP and CWM are not supported, so I am a little leery about moving forward. At this point I can either leave it rooted, or try to revert back and see if the camera will work again.

Kinda wish I went a price level up and purchased the ASUS or Lenovo that I was eyeing, but would lose 2" on the screen size. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!

I rooted with Root Genius, after trying a few different root utilities. I had found somewhere that someone was using Chinese rooting applications to pull it off but those didn't work for me. I don't remember the exact steps that I took, but you want to make sure that you have the drivers installed and USB Debugging enabled, which I think is enabled by default.

Kinda sucks that the cameras do not work now, but I will probably not use them anyway, just a minor annoyance. The major annoyance is that the internal storage space is weird. You get 1GB Internal, 4GB "external". I have to keep moving apps to the external storage and, without rooting, can be difficult since not all apps can be moved if the device isn't rooted.

I really wish I could put a custom recovery on this thing and put Lollipop on it.

Yeah the internal storage is strange with how these things work. Also Kit Kat sort of locks down part of it and doesn't let you write to it with tools that you install yourself. I'm still trying to figure it out.

Another thing I noticed is that it has ZRam turned on by default. No way to turn it off without root access.

I never could get mine rooted. I tried Root Genius several times as well as about 5 other methods, lol. I'm ready to give up and just get another tablet.

Is yours really really bright? I can't even use it without some kind of screen filter even during the day. I have it turned down as low as it will go but it's still extremely bright.

The price was nice on this device but if I can't get it rooted I will probably just get something else.

**Note: run your antivirus/antimalware program now that you are finished. I ran the free Malwarebytes anti-malware free utility and had about 91 hits and had to reboot twice just to get my system cleaned up again. I suspect it was the Kingo root installer that may have been the problem. Not sure though since I tried several of them as I mentioned. Just clean your system now that you are done.
