I just rec'd a PM from his daughter b/c I had been in a PM conversation with Andy but hadn't heard from him in a while...apparently he passed away in August! Wow...he was such an awesome man and such a wonderful help to me and a fantastic addition to this forum!!! Prayers going out to his family!

Oh my God, i can't believe it, i knew he was in the hospital in August (still helping people with their phones) good ole Andy!
WOW..... I'm at a loss for words right now, prayers go out to the family, so very sorry, i will miss him so much :(

He was a huge contribution to this forum!


@sushifor5.... do you mind if i put this thread on android central, andy had many friends over there and was a great contribution to that forum as well, unless you want to.

Ok thanks, i will post this on android central.

Yes, i am still shocked, he was a wonderful man and all he wanted to do in life was to help others. He was the main reason that i stayed on this forum for as long as i did. I never really new anything about Google + until July when he asked if i would be in his circle (which i didn't even know what that meant) ,now Andy is the only person i have in a circle . I still need to learn more about G+.

Andy and i became pretty good friends over the years (although i never met him in person, but really would have liked to.)
I certainly will miss him. :(

Oh wow. :(

I thought he was still around. I knew he wasn't doing well health wise, but he was always great with responses, even with the few that I disagreed with.

I think one of my last interactions with him was over at Android Central, perhaps early in August. We talked about his going over to MetroPCS, and Optimus L70 (?) rooting.

R.I.P. Andy. :saint:

Same here, even though I may not have agreed with some of Andy's methodologies, I respect the guy for having the patience in dealing with and addressing all the repetitive newbie questions. I also admired him for his tenacity to learn, and share his much self-taught knowledge and experiences. He made a difference in this community, and will be missed.
