Help Anyway to toggle GPS on/off quickly in Android 4.4?

Older versions of Android had a GPS toggle. Seems in Android 4.4, they have eliminated that?

Without rooting, is there a quicker way to toggle GPS on than long pressing the Location button, then pressing Mode, and finally selecting GPS or High Accuracy?

It's a pain in the butt to do this every time I get in my car and want to use Maps. And then do it again to turn off GPS when I'm done. And it seems Google throws in some location reporting acknowledgement screens, which makes the switching process even longer.

Edit: I have a Samsung Galaxy S4

You can use a Settings/Power widget that includes a GPS toggle option. Depending on your phone/launcher you might already have one, or you can search Google Play.

Hi wrench, you don't say what device you have but my HTC One running 4.4.3 and Sense 6.0 still has available an individual GPS toggle widget or a 'Power control' widget which includes a GPS toggle (centre one). The One also has a GPS toggle on the two finger pull down which is available at all times.

I tried Powerful Control from the Google Play store. When I try the GPS switch, I get the following message:

"One-click GPS switch has been banned by Android." It directs you to the location settings page, which is the same thing that the Location button does.

Hmmm, like tommo47 I can do it on my phone with KitKat. My widget either came with the phone or was included with Nova Launcher.

I get the "One-click GPS switch has been banned by Android." using PowerfulControl on a Moto G under Android 5.0.2

Has anyone found a fix/work-around?

If you pull down your status bar with 2 fingers, do you get the built-in quick settings?

Yes -- a two-fingered status bar pull-down gives me the location quick setting. I guess I should stop being a stick-in-the-mud and give up on finding widget the behaves like pre-version 5.

Many have lost widget radio control before Lollipop due to carrier restrictions.

Now there's no direct radio toggling at all due to heightened security, including mobile data -

I still have it (lollipop) the only difference is it toggles between, high accuracy, device only, battery saving (whichever I've selected in settings) and Location OFF (although I don't know if that turns the GPS radio off or just location)?
