I'm trying to add a photo to a contact, and I just can't get it to work. Here's what I do:

1. Bring up the contact.
2. Touch the pencil to edit the contact.
3. Touch the dummy picture. I get the choice of "Take photo" or "Select from Gallery''.
4. I choose Gallery, then Photos. A collection of photos shows up, including the one I want.
5. I touch the correct photo.

And nothing happens!! I'm bounced back to the profile.

I have an LG P705 phone.

What have I missed?

Once try hard resetting your phone then you may find solution...!
I think its some kinda booting problem. I'll find some perfect solution and get you back.
By"hard booting", do you mean fully poweriing down and then restarting? I've tried that and it makes no difference. What more can I do without erasing all the information on the phone?

Hey I've had a problem like this what i did

1. Go to settings
2. Press apps
3. Go to all
4. Then on your actual phone press the button on the right
5. Press Reset App Preferences
6. Now try to add your photo
7. And now should ask you what you want to crop it with just try 1 of them then if it still doesn't work then do steps 1-5 again and try the other option.

I tried following your advice, but Step 4 didn't work. It brought up the message "sort by size". I assume that the "button on the right" is the one to the right of the big button at the bottom of the phone that supposedly brings up actions for the current context.
