In case you lost Root due to the update, would like to Root your VS980, or cannot Root using Towelroot or Stump Root, you can download and use King Root and it works like a charm!
After doing some modifications on my device and losing Root, I wasn't able to Root using Towelroot or Stump Root as they both indicated that my device wasn't supported. To be on the safe side, I disabled the Verizon Support & Protection Tool, downloaded King Root, plugged in my device and Rooted successfully!
