Root No ETA on Root for Hydro

Thank you jmz!
Confirmed working on the Kyocera Hydro. I just did it successfully.
I take no credit for this - all thanks to jmz above, and Bin4ry, kamistral, Team FreeXperia, et al @XDA for making this happen!

Root for the Hydro -

It worked fine for me, but your mileage may vary, so - USE AT YOUR OWN RISK!**

*Download the file above.

*Connect phone to computer, and select "Media Transfer" on the phone (go to "System", "Developer Options" and make sure "USB Debugging" is checked)

*Run the "RunMe" file in the "Root_with_Restore_by_Bin4ry_v2_win-linux" file you just downloaded, and select "3> Other" in the on-screen prompts.

*The phone will ask you to enter an encryption password... hit "restore my data" on the bottom of the screen on your phone.

*Follow any further on-screen prompts, your phone will reboot, and you're Rooted!

*NOTE*
(Still working on a Recovery atm... I will check back and report when I have it working - BUT UNTIL THEN, BE CAUTIOUS ABOUT WHAT YOU DELETE/CHANGE - WE HAVE NO RECOVERY AS OF YET)

Be careful, and enjoy!

*Edit* ~
It's probably best to wait - as stated above, we have no working recovery yet. If you add or delete something, and your phone goes nuts or you loose service, you'll be forced to do a factory reset and start from scratch all over again - IF you don't brick it altogether. Until we have a working recovery, rooting this phone should only be done by Devs and those that fully understand the risks involved, and are willing to take them while we work on getting a functional recovery.

Ok, so I've tried this method three times now, everything goes smoothly, after reboot I have root... For a while. After it gives root access to superuser, the root just disappears. I don't know what's wrong, it just stops giving root access to anything that asks for it. I downloaded root checker and it said , my phone didn't have root. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, I feel kinda dumb, because I'm usually pretty good with things like this.
I did notice that the download link given says v2. What would happen if I try to do it with v14 given on the original xda thread?
Thanks in advance for any and all help. :)

Edit* Never mind, I figured it out. It was my computer, it didn't install the drivers correctly. Tried it on my laptop and it worked like a charm ;)

This doesn't work for me at all. When I press the number 3 it doesn't do anything on my phone. I have already rooted the prevail before and had a hardware issue that I resolve right after I bought my hydro lol. I really like this phone much better than the prevail but I want to be able to root this phone I like the access I had to the prevail from rooting. Now that all being said, I open up the runme.bat file. I press 3 like it says on the directions. I followed them in every way possible including getting the drivers first. It showed a rooted kernel but my phone is not rooted. I tried several times to figure this out and I truly need to know what I am doing wrong or if something has been changed that I am missing. Please help me. Joshbg0509@gmail.com is my email. I check it daily so if anyone has any answers let me know please. Thank you all for your hard work and bricked phones. I learn quickly and am trying to figure out where I'm going wrong.

NOBODY REALLY!?!?!it is a outdated phone this i know ive waited almost a month for a reply i do not want to brick my phone ,this phone has been awesome to me i absolutely love the water proof feature and yes i still use it!! so a reply is all i ask for ty for your time and the bump., please help?

Yes it can be rooted, but must use with care as boot-loader is locked making restoration difficult. The link to root method was provided in post #9 of this thread. Mine is Metro w/Android v4.1.2. I used Root with Restore by Bin4ry v35, and chose option 1 (Xperia Root by cubeundcube).
