Root [Boost Mobile] Tri-Band S3 (SPH-L710T)

You may need to flash the apn fix. Or go back to your TouchWiz rom update your profile and all that stuff then flash back to the new ROM.

As an Update, that's exactly what I did. I had been working fine on stock TW that came with the phone for three weeks. I had assumed the 'activation' during the initial setup WAS the provisioning of the account and SIM card. Then I flashed over to Liquid 5.0.2. What baffles me is how it became unactivated or 'unprovisioned'. Wish I understood this process more on MVNO's.

At any rate, flashing or 'restoring' my an droid back to TW and tapping the 'Activate device' brought my voice back to life. I then restored my nan droid of Liquid back and bam.. Worked perfectly.

Glad it worked for you.

Oh I thought the guy meant it was only for people who have sprint spark T models but its for all of us who have the SPH-L710T. Sorry that was a stupid question... I'm loving the wicked s5 xperience rom though :) I can't wait to get something that is AOSP based and has rotation fixed!
The L710T IS the spark version. T model = spark model. Same thing.

Samsung won't do it because this phone is over 2 yrs old. But luckily we have devs that keep on pushing.
I had to comment on this. It's definitely over two years old, but they've since re-released it (just over 6 months old) and have you seen how smooth this device runs on 5.0?? Instead of Samsung making all these cheap junk prepaid phones, R&D and such, why not just keep developing a perfectly good phone? This is more of a commen than anything else.

At any rate, I appreciate everyone here and all the work they are doing! It's great to see people still working on it. I now have a daily driver running 5.0.2 with no issues other than rotation which I can live with.

I was just saying there's no way Samsung will update a 2 yr old phone, and its because there's no money in it. It wasn't exactly re-released, just modified. You will never see official lollipop on a 2 yr old phone. There are brand new phones right now being released with kitkat. A lot of money goes into making an official update for a Samsung phone. Luckily there is much love for this awesome phone in the development community.
I wish Samsung would update it, this phone is the best purchase on VM and boost. In my opinion anyways.

It definitely is the best prepaid option at Radioshack. I just prefer the Sprint model.

You could try using a USB jig. I can upload an untested debrick image when I get home.

Here is the debrick .bin someone posted https://www.dropbox.com/s/kda5o2x53ipr514/backup.bin?dl=0 I used it and it works. Btw your micro sd needs to be the same storage size as the phone which is 16GB. I debricked mine with a 16GB sandisk class 4 micro sd. People say u have to have a class 10 but i did it with a class 4. Also a download jig could work...

I have a 16gb Kingston class 4... and it didn't work... .-.
Also, thanks for posting that because I just realized I don't have the image anymore.

Yes for us spark users hopefully they get it fixed soon, that drives me crazy.
Drives me crazy too. Everyone is telling me to use that rotation apk file, but that doesn't solve the issue of taking photos. Even with the one open source camera I found that works, I still had problems with the rotation locking up the phone and cold booting.

Anyone know what the leanest 4.4.x aosp rom there is for the 710t ?

As far as I know rotation is busted with all aosp ROMS. I have given up on aosp for now. I am using wicked X barebones. Everything works and it's pretty cool for touchwiz.

Speaking of messed up sensors, is it just my last two phones or is the compass rotation backwards on non-stock roms as well?

I'm not sure how the magnetometer works but it hasn't worked on this or my previous L710T. It looks like it would work, just that it's turning the opposite direction.

Wicked X barebone. How does it run? I wouldn't mind TW if it were as quick as AOSP. I'm really amazed how quick 5.0.2 liquid smooth runs on this thing. Just unfortunate about the camera and rotation or it would be perfect! (I guess there's always something!)
