Hey so I tried to flash a CWM on my note 3 running 4.4.2 and it seemed to have worked fine.

However, when I try to go into recovery the phone displays at the top left corner
RECOVERY BOOTING....
RECOVERY IS NOT SEANDROID ENFORCING
Set Warranty Bit : recovery

and then the phone just reboots eventually without allowing me to go to recovery... any ideas would be thanked for!

What you did wrong was using or trying to flash/use CWM recovery in the first place.

Here is the correct way to flash root and custom recovery:

Step #1

Download and Odin flash TWRP 2.7.2.0: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/.../TWRP_2720.tar

After doing the above you will no longer have any root or recovery issues.

For best results use Odin v1.85 which can be found here:

Lot's of people have been having issues with cwm recovery ever since
the NF1 official Samsung N900T firmware was released.

TWRP 2.7.2.0 works perfectly on N900T Note 3 roms and
the one I posted to you in the download link is specifically made
for the Note 3 N900T, not all versions of twrp work with all
phones and or all models.

First of all, thanks for your response. Can you please tell me how I would flash this? As what goes where and what boxes are supposed to be checked on Odin.

1) If your phone is rooted, download Odin

2) Download the TWRP recovery for your phone that I mentioned above. Make sure your download ends in ".TAR" this is important.

3) Bring your phone into download mode by turning it off and then holding POWER+VOLUME DOWN+HOME buttons at the same time until a screen shows up giving a warning about installing custom roms. then press the VOLUME UP button to continue.

4) If odin is open, only "AUTO-REBOOT" and "F. RESET TIME" should be checked. Nothing else!

5) Attach your phone in download mode to your laptop. Odin should recognize it by the ID:COM box turning blue. If not, you need the latest drivers from Samsung before continuing.

6) After you connect your phone, press "AP" (or PDA for earlier versions.)

7) Locate the TWRP recovery that you downloaded in .TAR form.

8) Click Start

9) It should flash Recovery and Reset. Do not remove phone until it says PASS or SUCCESS

10) Enjoy

You can flash any rom that is made for your T-Mobile Note 3. It has to be in .ZIP form and you'll flash it with TWRP recovery that you just installed. But before that, you'll make sure you check out if the ROM is stable, as in minimal to no bugs, and that it is specifically for your phone. You'll want to back up your current ROM in case you run across any problems. Backup everything. Apps, contacts, everything. Then completely wipe your phone clean, and install the new ROM in .ZIP form.

I recommend Hyperdrive Rom. I just installed it yesterday and it's the most popular custom Rom for our phones. But it can be a little confusing as it has a lot of features and setup steps.

Thanks for the advice! Yeah I've been researching for good roms and Hyperdrive rom seems to be pretty popular... as of now I'll probably stick to the stock rom, and later change it up a bit and make it interesting again... one more thing is tethering free once you install a custom rom and it has a tethering feature? Or will that still use up my data plan?

1) Download the Wifi Tether Router app from the play store

2) For Galaxy Note 3 use this configuration after you open the app

Interface wlan0
Method 3 - HostApd
Encryption wpa2-psk
Channel 1
Drivers nl80211
"HostApd Patch" <- UNCHECKED
"No Firmware Reload" <- UNCHECKED

3) Give your wifi a name and password

4) Make sure your "Wifi" is turned ON before you turn on Wifi Tether Router

5)
you need to have ES File Explorer installed on your phone. You can use ES File Explorer to edit the file in the system folder.

1. Open ES File Explorer
2. Pull up the Menu for it (hold down the multitask button for that)
3. Tap on Tools
4. Turn on Root Explorer
5. Tap on Root Explorer on the left side and go to Mount R/W
6. Make sure all of the settings are set to RW, tap OK
7. At the top of ES File Explorer tap / that should take you to the root of the phone,

Now go to System, CSC, and open customer.xml

When you click on the file it opens it up in read only, you have to hit the menu in the top right corner to edit the file.

Be very careful and only change the things below. I would make a back up of the file and place it somewhere you know you can find it. What you are going to change is in bold.

<ProfileName>T-Mobile US LTE</
ProfileName>
<Auth>none</Auth>
<MTUSize>1440</MTUSize>
<Bearer>ps</Bearer>
<Protocol>http</Protocol>
<IpVersion>ipv4</IpVersion> --------------------------- Change to ipv4
<Proxy>
<EnableFlag>off</EnableFlag>
</Proxy>
<PSparam>
<APN>fast.t-mobile.com</APN>
</PSparam>
</Profile>
<Profile>
<NetworkName>T-Mobile</NetworkName>
<Editable>yes</Editable> -------------------Change to yes
<EnableStatus>enable</EnableStatus>
<ProfileName>T-Mobile MMS LTE<

Save the changes and reboot

Once you are restarted navigate to where the APN's are. System Settings, More Networks, Mobile Networks, Access Point Names. Once you are there click on the top right corner and tap Reset to Default. That should update the APN, you can now go in and verify that under T-Mobile US LTE the APN protocol is now set to ipv4. If the change didn’t pull over you should be able to edit it and change it to ipv4;

Is there an updated Odin85? the link from dropbox no longer works. Thanks.
