Root [T-Mobile] [ROM][F6] Xperion ROM **Updated 2/11/15**

GT id like to change the background in the settings (I'd like to use a different image besides the ones you offer in your bg pack) is it possible and how?

GT do you think its possible to put another png on the background of settings right now im using your mosaic bg but id like to put something else

  1. unzip it
  2. change the images in the unzipped package for your own images keeping the same image names I already have
  3. then zip it back up and flash it

Had to register to thank you for the work, GT. Thanks! The performance is fantastic.

I have the Freedom kernel (Lite) installed and everything seems to be fine. I'm really enjoying some of the apps you've included with the ROM. I've had only two hiccups so far, one being that Google Maps isn't installed, although I installed the latest Gapps after I installed the ROM, and the other being that Google hasn't synced up with my contacts. I can't imagine either one of those is related to the ROM, though. I tried to install Maps by way of a Titanium backup but the circles just kept turning.

Anyway, glad to have this on my phone. Much obliged, GT!

You should not be installing the Gapps package on this rom. The Gapps package is only for AOSP based roms like cyanogenmod. If you want google maps or any other apps from google, you should install them directly from the play store. For your contacts to sync you have to go to Accounts and Sync in the phone's settings and enable sync for your contacts.

Oooooooooooooooh. Well, that's great! I don't have to have all that stuff I don't use on here, then.

Maybe I'll wipe it again and start fresh. I tried to enable sync and even manually told it to sync a few times but it's still not cooperating.

Sync definitely works, I can guarantee that! It's probably because you flashed gapps you weren't suppose to. Always follow the instructions provided with a rom which in this case gapps were not in the instructions. You'll have to do a full wipe and flash.

I've got a quick, sorta idiot question since i'm not entirely clear on the wipe phone/clean install. Could you elaborate on it for me? I've thrown multiple roms on my Kindle Fire 2, and I've ****ed it up a few times and had to reflash cause I've bricked it. I'm not exactly wanting to do that here.

Also is there an alternative bootloader for the Optimus F6? I have freedom boot or something that allows me to boot straight into twrp if it's soft bricked.

You have to go into twrp recovery and wipe data before flashing the rom which is what a clean install is. The instructions are easy and straight forward, just follow along and it'll all make sense.

No there is no alternate bootloader. Now if you're talking about an app to get you into twrp recovery, then there's plenty of those. Just do a search in the playstore. I've made a couple of those myself, just search my name in the play store if you're interested.

Yeah I was able to get in and it's all good, I just ****ed up trying to install multiple different Roms.

Also, yours is definitely much faster than the stock rom. I just wish it was 4.4.4 or newer.

Okidoki I got ROM back on, and seems to be all gud

twrp for Optimus F6 is buggy as hell tho

Does anyone know why every time I press the home button is brings up a launcher options box asking me to complete the action using 'Home' or 'Nova Launcher'?

I checked under Nova settings > Gestures and Buttons, but I don't know what I should change this to. Under button actions, I see the following:
Home Button: Show Previews
Only on Default Screen: checked
Long-press Menu: Search

Thanks for any help!

Did you actually tell it to use Nova Launcher/Home as your default homescreen? Cause that's what it's asking, it wants to know which you wanna use as your default.

If you already have a default one set, that's weird.

Open Nova settings and scroll down to where it says "Select Default Home" and click on it and choose Nova launcher.

Is there any way to remove this ROM from the phone without flashing a backup of the original?? I tried hard factory reset and wipe cache but I don't understand the other options in CWM so I'm afraid to mess around too much. I want to sell the phone on ebay so I'm trying to wipe it entirely. Sorry for my n00bness..

The only way to change roms is to flash a new one on. If you want the stock rom back on, factory reset, and wipe all data, then restore the backup of the stock rom.

  1. Open the "SuperSU" app and go to settings and do a "Full unroot". Make sure it unroots your phone, if not repeat.
  2. Then follow THIS guide to factory restore. If you have the t-mobile f6 then use THIS kdz file with the guide in this step.
  3. After the factory restore go to phone settings and do a factory reset to remove leftover user installed apps.
  4. Done! Your phone should now be like the day you bought it and you can sell it on Ebay.
NOTE:
If you need help doing the factory restore in step 2 then ask for help in THIS thread since this is outside the scope of this thread.
