Root [International] lollipop vs kit Kat

I can't be the only one who doesn't like the New material design and more over notification panel on lollipop?

I can kinda live with material design, but I really like the notification panel on kit Kat, especially with gravity box tweaks......I have the toggles i want when i want them!

Have you been fraternizing with that other old curmudgeon, Hawker, by any chance?

I think the new Material design is great and what is not to like about the new stock Samsung Notification screen. See, below...

(Taken from the Samsung stock Lollipop firmware for the Galaxy S5)

I know what you mean butty.
I'm on Dan's GPEv5.0 and I disliked it initially for the overall look. For several months previous to flashing this I was using GoldFinger (an S5-themed TW ROM) and I really liked my return to TW. If anyone ever wants me to recommend a TW ROM, then this is definitely it. (Also GoldenEye is brilliant too if you prefer the S4 look over S5)

However, after trying Dan's ROM since its release, I must admit, the whole Lollipop look and feel has really grown on me.
Its a bit like anything that changes, it takes some getting used to. I hated going over to Windows 3, from MS-DOS! (a bit like ironass hated going over from sticks and stones to the abacus) and then 95, XP, 7, and 8, but after I got used to each, I wouldn't go back.

Give it a good stint is my advice and see what happens.
If you still don't get on with it, then restore your nandroid.

Lol as I say,I can live with the material design, but what I really want, and it's the main reason I've kept going back to gpe , is my quick toggles, I have all toggles i want/need which I've yet to find a way of getting the same thing on lollipop, that and little tweaks like torch on lockscreen.

Really just silly things I use daily/regularly and I've hated not having when using lollipop :-(

I totally get what you mean about getting used too change, I just don't want to lose functionality :-( in the mean time i need to get rid of the update notification.Lol

I really liked KitKat and wished I had never updated to lollipop, had problems with a couple of my games that wouldn't work right took them forever to send a update so I could play there games again.I thought it said it was supposed to have better battery life ,but I couldn't tell no difference. I would go back to KitKat ,but I would have to root my tablet before I could go back and it still in warranty so I will live with it.

I still haven't upgraded from 4,3 jellybean as my bootloader is locked & didn't want the restrictions, but i have got lollipop on my fully rooted HTC One & i kind of prefer it to kitkat & jellybean, (It is a stock version i am using on the HTC), if you are rooted on the S4 it would be worth switching to lollipop as the whole rom feels faster & more polished than kitkat

For anyone interested, the latest LP TW ROMs that have started to roll out also include a camera firmware update. The only way to update the camera firmware on the S4 is by flashing stock firmware as far as I'm aware, so even for those of you who dont bother with TW ROMs, its worth flashing your latest stock TW firmware, boot up and open the camera app to upgrade the firmware. After this you can do whatever you want, ie. root, install philz, install a custom ROM blah blah blah.
