You have an older version for sure Jim, that could be it. They are well past 5.6 something now for sure. If you don't want to update the version you have for what ever reason you can always try downloading the language pack again. Also keyboards aren't perfect yet, and anyone can tell you that any keyboard will still give you a "clunker" every now and then, lol.

Okay I just a couple weird predictions: hopefully predicted as hoek and problem predicted as pettibone.

Are you sure it's past 5.6 for all devices? The Play Store says the version "varies with device" and I have a TMO Note 3. I uninstalled/reinstalled and still have 5.2.2.124. Maybe just doing that will fix my predictions.

I can't speak for "all devices" Jim, but I just checked on mine, and it's 5.6.9.3 and I know it's not the newest one out there. Try downloading it from the TouchPal folks themselves, I can't imagine it won't work on your phone.

Well that explains the version difference. We started out talking about SwiftKey and now you've switched to TouchPal! o_O

Hey Jim, my version of SwiftKey is the same as yours, looks like you probably do have the latest version. And yeah, some of the predictions are weird so I constantly delete them. I wish SwiftKey (or another keyboard app) would give us an option of an empty dictionary, then learn from our emails & texts, & I'll teach it the rest as I use other words. Maybe I'll get my wish someday [emoji6]

Thank you all for that heads up, some people aren't meant to multi-task at all. I need to do one thread at a time. I have the latest version of Super Swiftkey, which is also the latest Play Store version. I use the cloud on all my devices and have never had problems with foreign language prediction.

I was following along as well, similarly confused.

Glad it's cleared up now. :D

For me, it's not that it's predicting foreign words, it's more a case of predicting unusual words I've never used, & will never use. I can't find an example right now because I've deleted a lot & nothing weird is coming up.
That's probably what's happening with me too. They're weird words that I have never and would never use, so they're foreign to me.

Swift key has become buggy for me too as of late... I started using Google L keyboard for about 4-5 days and went back to Swiftkey and its prediction was off I thought maybe it was because I had not used it for a while...

About foreign words in predictions with SwiftKey.

I've got English (UK) and Chinese (Simplified) installed and active, and very occasionally when it's in English mode it throws the odd Chinese character in there. "Maan" is a word I've added, name of a local coffee bar.

It's actually the reason I only use Swiftkey for English now Mike. When I used it with Spanish too it would mix up the predictions and since I rely so heavily on them it was really annoying. I took Spanish out and use a different keyboard for that and now Swiftkey only gives me "Merican" predictions, lol.
