[Official] Cricket Referral Discussion Thread, No Links

Well, mine from November that were supposed to post to my account a month ago still haven't shown up. I did an online chat with Cricket support and they opened a ticket. She indicated she could "see" them but wasn't sure why they hadn't posted. They took the full three days to replay, and sent me not-that-clear text message that said:

"Thanks for choosing Cricket! The resolution of your case is: The referal program will require self-service from you. You can click "Contact Us" to be assisted via email from website. The redemption code is no longer necessary and you can resubmit yor referral. Referrals are valid for 30 days. Sorry for the inconvenien"

I have no idea why I would resubmit a referral since I wasn't the one that submitted them - the people I referred were. I got the $25 credit I was supposed to get for being referred by someone else - I'm missing the credits I should be getting for people I referred. I have now opened a ticket through the referral website, to which I still haven't gotten any response. They have one more day before their promised 3-day response window is up. I have about six more referrals that are pending still, so I'm starting to get concerned.

I saw this in the Cricket rules:

"Once your friend activates their service, they must log back into their profile and provide their new Cricket phone number – this is how we verify their identity as a new Cricket subscriber."

Is it possible they aren't doing this step, causing the credit not to go through?

I am pretty sure they did. I got an email from Cricket 2 months after they signed up saying my referrals had been approved and would post to my account within 4 weeks. That was 8 weeks ago. :-(

I too am not too impressed with their new system, I have 5 that were approved and suppose to be posted to my account over a month ago, and still nothing. There is definitely something array with the new system. :(
Very odd, half mine have posted

Also to the user who mentioned self service I believe they are asking you to contact sparkrefer for customer service.. You can contact them from the referral website.. They are the guys who actually credit your account.. I have no idea why they said to resubmit.. Shouldn't have to do that.. But cricket doesn't manage he program anymore.

Click contact at the bottom of the referrals page as seen in my screenshot

They are slow at responding but when I had virgin mobile they also managed the referral program and where always helpful. When I had virgin they took about 7 days to respond..

Don you might want to contact them as well.. I'm sure you should have received a few of the credits by now. I am still missing half mine but some have posted

Go into settings and make sure your phone numbers are correct.

BTW the new referral program the money just shows up.. Nothings ever listed in your cricket statement like with the old program.. No credit adjustments or anything. The account balance just changes

Last, don't worry mine took longer than they where supposed to.. I was worried but then they showed up.. Im sure your all's will soon

I opened a ticket a few days ago with sparkrefer. At 3 business days I got the following email back:

Thank you for contacting the Cricket Refer A Friend program Support Team.

We are currently in the process of investigating your inquiry regarding the whereabouts of your rewards and will get back to you shortly with more information. We apologize for the delay, but greatly appreciate your patience.

Thanks for participating in the Cricket Wireless Refer A Friend program.

I'm going to give them a few more days before I reach out again.

If this is true, it's just too much of hassle. people will forget to do this. cricket wireless being smart... save money

Its true you have to go back to the site and put in your new cricket account info.. They send plenty of email reminders so its not that bad of a hassle.

Several phone providers actually use this same service for referrals.. T-Mobile used to (they might still), Virgin Mobile and Sprint (when sprint had referral offers)

Its worked our for me on all providers

Well I can tell you this, either others are not entering their info, or the system is slow

I got the email on Feb saying I had 5 credits approved, it is suppose to take 30 days, and they should be posted, well its a week past 30 days and nothing posted to the account. So they are most likely a little slower and probably busy and still need to get caught up. I assume it's more like 30 to 60 days would be my guess, we will see, I'll report back when they are posted.

My experience (from when I dealt with this with virgin mobile) it'll take about 6 days for the investigation however, my friend on another forum said after two days of the investigation his credits showed up but he has yet to hear back about the investigation.. You might see them Monday or so! Assuming they are closed over the weekend

Well, I am still waiting. Here is my chain of events/dates:

  1. 1/20/2015 - got three emails saying three referrals had been approved and would post to my account with 4 weeks.
  2. 3/6/2015 - did an online chat with Cricket and they opened a ticket to see where my credits were.
  3. 3/10/2015 - Cricket responded to my ticket indicating I had to check with Sparkrefer on the creidts.
  4. 3/11/2015 - Sent a note to Sparkrefer inquiring about my credits.
  5. 3/16/2015 - Got an email from Sparkrefer indicating the same thing someone posted above, "We are currently in the process of investigating your inquiry regarding the whereabouts of your rewards and will get back to you shortly with more information. We apologize for the delay, but greatly appreciate your patience."
  6. 3/24/2015 - I replied to the email from Sparkrefer asking for an update. As of this morning I still haven't heard anything back.
I guess I'm going to start another inquiry with Sparkrefer, but at this point I'm starting to get annoyed. My three referals all met the requirements, and my phone number was correct. They emailed me stating they were approved and would post, and no one seems to know where they are. Frustrating.

I'm going to keep on them. :)

I C their strong point is not dealing with customers and being able to resolve an obvious issue. At least you got a response, I'm still awaiting from the first 2 responses, LOL No biggie if at least somewhere along the line we get it, but Cricket needs to fix this snail pace referral system, it is obviously not working.

When virgin mobile used them they where so fast that the credit showed up weeks before the SMS message saying we had been credited..

I don't know if spark actually does the credits or if they put in a request for the carrier to do them.. Either way, I'm about to contact them about my half of the credits that are missing.. The second half of them have taken longer than the first half and should have been credited by now.

Its like their system stopped crediting at some point

You have to love Cricket and their referral project, I have 5 pending for the past 60 days, still waiting on them to research where they are, other then them saying they are looking into it, then I get 2 more approved credits yesterday, damn they still haven;t credited me the 5 they owe me, LOL I am at a lost with the Spark referral. I will give them until the end of this week, then I will contact Cricket, rather then dealing with Spark, I kept all those emails saying the credits would be posted within the next 4 weeks, so they can check if need be.

I heard back from an upper tier support rep from cricket who contacted spark for me.. He FWD the email he received fro spark and it said that spark is aware of some early referrals not paying out and they are working overtime tracking those down and paying them out.. It also said those referrals have not been lost! They just have to track them down and manually pay them out.

I also then wrote spark an email myself because my other half should be paid by now.. I'll post what they reply if they reply..

I had a friend who was paid for 10 referrals two days ago and it came with an email apologizing for the delay.

So who knows what's going on, I hope they work it out soon
