Root [ROM]K2_CL 4.2.2 Stock Rooted Deodexed

Turns out my issue (with the phone not working) was due to improper radio img. I flashed straight from 4.1.2 to this one and had a radio img mismatch. I know for two reasons. 1) because I was told so by someone who knows and 2) because I recreated the same problem recently with a version mistmatch. I guess I really don't know that there was ever a problem with these roms besides the user.

Ummm Love the ROM, but where is my SMS facility? I added ChompSMS but it says it has problems with my APN settings? I've been digging for the settings, but can't find any. what happened?

Chomp's error says " Can't download MMS - check your APN settings and then tap to try again. "

Yes to a bit of debloating and yes to K2_CL. I remanded a few things to the SD instead of in the main rom since I like to have a fully featured phone that still runs, but I didn't remove messaging. the icon never showed itself upon install with a full wipe of the phone via the current TWRP before installing save for wiping the external SD card.

I don't use instagram or regular twitter or facebook. I use falcon, and tinfoil for the latter two and don't use instagram or flicker at all. I also use my own office program and don't upload photos to the web. I also have a strict regimen for tweaking the performance of my device, but that has never affected this. It was just not.. there. The rom runs beautifully. no problems, and I tested with an SMS send to myself and it came in without wi-fi on.. I'll have someone send me a txt later today when they awake and let you know what happens.

Addendum. I also don't use boost zone and got rid of movies, and music, and games from Google. I have my own music and never watch movies on this device.. the tablet or tower takes care of that... Soooo reasonable debloating.. I've been researching my device on XDA ever since I got it almost 2 years ago now.. sooooo I'm not a total noob.. heh

I have this curious habit of being the odd apple who is able to handle everything save for an off problem that tends to stump even the designers.. FYI.

I prefer things like Chrome and Gmail to be on the SD card so they don't take up the last of the room on the main rom, so they were converted to user apps properly, and moved.

To say again however, this problem was there upon install.. no SMS icon, no SMS facility.. I just downloaded and this this a few days ago.. and no APN section in settings that I can find.. Looked up on the web even, to see if I was digging in the wrong place and I was int he correct place alright.. it's just not there.

Apparently, I downloaded this on the 17th and installed on the 18th of the month FYI.

I hope this is enough of an answer to lead you to a conclusion or three.. Ask away.. I'm open to ideas and suggestions. I've waited for a long time for a proper ROM that actually WORKS... for this bloody phone... sooooooooo. thanks again.. I look forward to your reply..

ADDENDUM 2:: One more thing. I'm more than happy to do an NFC check when I can get to someone with the capability and whatever else you need.. there's nothing but time on my end ATM..

Ok and thank you.. As for the app issue concerning system to user conversion. The system partition is the problem... It's just not large enough to handle having all those apps along with all the apps I use already.. I have pots of room in data and so little in system.. Hence my remanding of certain apps to the data partition and the SD card.. it got to the point that Google play would not update my apps because the system partition was too full.. As is now?? I have more room.. I suppose it really comes down to personal preference in the long run. Thank you for the workaround for now.. I will take advantage of it and reflash once you get the stock SMS utility restored.. The ROM, as it is, is rather outstanding and easily twice as fast as the stock model..

Salutations LordVincent90.. I was just curious about current happenings.. Don't mean to be a bother, but Handcent is bulky and slow... May the job have gone well and have you had time as of yet to replace the SMS app in the rom? I'd love to go ahead and reflash. Thanks for the effort with this rom. It's a lot better than stock..
