Root [MetroPCS] [ROM][4.4.4]CARBON ROM Kitkat 4.4.4 for LG Optimus F6 [LOTS OF FIXES]

Can someone please explain to me why 400mb isn't enough for a 20mb app? Frustrated doesn't even begin to describe what's going on right now.

I know exactly what you mean. Two things you gotta remember though is that 20mb may be the size of the apk file but once installed the app is about twice that size. Also a certain amount of empty space is needed to allow the system to function properly. If you need more space for apps you can either use link2sd or warranty voider's SD hack. Another option if you just need a little more space for a few more apps is to begin converting user apps to system apps and moving all your music, pictures, videos, and other downloads to the SD card.

@Dm47021 Thanks a million for building this ROM. I might have never discovered the insane awesomeness of Carbon Rom otherwise. I've tried almost every aosp 4.4 ROM in existence on my nexus7 and IMO carbon puts them all to shame especially cm11.

Also, can someone tell me how to tweak the volume levels? I've seen talk of editing a sitar file? I can't seem to find any posts that show the path/to/the/sitar_file. Some help with this would be awesome.
Sure.. Its tricky to edit /etc/snd_soc_msm/ in that folder .. As far as tweaking individual items.. I am not extremly familiar yet
Page 19, post 459 shows which lines to edit with Notepad++
I am assuming the line numbers will be the same but since this is a new rom/build it may be off. Just pay attention to the headings that you modify.
Also, please let me know if speaker-phone and bluetooth work with the newest build.

Thanks,
Here hope this helps

I have been following your thread for a while and I have to say you have given new light to this phone.

The new kernel that you have put out is working wonderfully. Controllers connect, car stereo, headsets and practically everything I have tried. No random disconnects either.

However, I do want to point out that the native transfer method within Link2SD (premium version IDK if that matters) does not work within the new kernel, just thought I would of tried it since it was added.

Keep up the great work and thanks for making this rom. ;)
Can't wait to see what you have in stored for porting CM12.

After using this new kernel for a day I can say that performance takes a dip for the Bluetooth fix. Phone starts having massive slowdowns after a few hours not even music would play properly. Gaming performance takes a massive dip as well. On the previous kernel DM made on April 14, modern combat 4 could run from the SD card without lag but this kernel makes it hiccup.

Had to switch back to the previous kernel.

UPDATE: Gave the new kernel another chance, had gotten the same results so I created a titanium backup and then decided to uninstall carbon, install stock then carbon again then the kernel once more then oddly enough no lags or hiccups for whatever reason including games. Maybe the kernel didn't like my install of the ROM at first.

Did you wiped cache n wiped dalvik by using Data_on_Sd wipe dalvik zip . so you won't break sdhack. N then flashed the newkernel.zip..???
Or did you flashed it right on top of previous one without wiping?

I always wipe the cache and dalvik cache before installing anything in recovery. And no I don't use SD card hack, it messed up one of my SD cards with the constant read/writes. I use foldermount and obb on sd, so I would buy the game on andyos on the PC then transfer it to my phone.

The older kernel is holding up though, just having those issues on the newest.

I haven't played around with the newest update enough to notice any lag or other issues but I will say that Bluetooth works for me now and that's a huge step in the right direction. The one thing I did notice was that transferring files with Bluetooth took a little longer than what is to be expected. It took 8min to receive an 8mb apk which seems a little on the slow side.

Overall great work it's great to see progress being made.
