Smartpay Galaxy S5

I bought a samsung galaxy S5 from metro via smartpay / "bill float" plan, the first time back when the S5 came out. And for the 2nd time on sunday for my girlfriend. The first phone was paid off in full before any interest was due.

The first thing i asked when i walked in the store if the S5 was 479, they replied yes. I wanted to use the smart pay option again, was approved blah blah blah. I did not get a receipt of how much was being charged for the phone, and because they told me it was 479, i was under the impression that it was that much , obviously before tax. Then when I checked the smart pay website, I noticed that they charged me 649 for the phone, the price before the "instant rebate".

So my questions are this- ( I am going back in the store to see what the manager says, was not in today)

What can they do for me as far as giving me a credit for the rebate?

Basically they charged me for what a S6 costs, has anyone had a similar incident or heard of it with metro/smart pay?

I printed out my smartpay paperwork, and intend to go in and tell him I want the discount/ credit/ something for the 170 difference between the price, or I am going to return the phone back, i spoke with a metropcs customer service rep, and they told me that i was correct. I'm curious to see what the manager says (the one who sold me the phone). All im looking for is some lightweight feedback, and i appreciate any and all feedback given here. thank you for reading.

They ripped you off, See Smart Pay is good for stores because they get payed the FULL amount of the phone even before you make any payments.

So I can only think of two things here, One is that the person made an honest mistake and charged you the original non discounted price, or they charged you the full amount so they could get that amount.

In any case I would def go back to the store and ask for a good explanation. The only correction to this problem is to have them do a return on the product, they would have to call Billfloat to cancel the payments and then go ahead and redo the contract again.

That's what I was thinking, I did not know they get paid up front, I'm hoping it was an honest mistake and he will fix it or be willing to, otherwise I will raise a little hell in his store... Good to know thanks for the information, I will update, going back in tomorrow to see his explanation

Update: I went back into the store, the manager admitted the mistake and credited me back with cash, I was happy with the results.. I brought in my receipt and copy of smart pay printed out agreement, he acknowledged his mistake, took about 10 minutes and gave me the overage in cash
You are lucky to get no fuss or any muss
