LG Access LTE

I'm new to smartphones and I bought lg l31l and I need to unlock it too. The is a a program /system/apps/Hidden/SIMUnlockMenu.apk in the software list and it appears the code is already in place. Anybody know how to compile/run the program? It looks like a possible solution.

Dennis

Sorry I misspelled it; /system/apps/HiddenSIMUnlockMenu.apx

Seems like I do not have that application installed in the same path in my mobile. I believe this program will only bring up the unlock menu/key sequence. However you will still need an unlock code to input.

Yes it is rootable with towelroot, I did mine 2 weeks ago cheers !!

I am thinking of rooting my LGL31L because I just reset my phone to manufactures setting and now I can't get red spell check lines under misspelled words in any app when it worked in every app before the manufacturers reset. Anyone have any ideas? I have no settings under language & input for spelling correction when I click on the gear, I just have a blank screen and from what I have read it has probably been disabled in kitkat 4.4.2 because of some apple lawsuit and I think I need to root my phone to get my spell check settings back. anyone have any ideas or info? I am thinking of using stump root to see if that works but what do I do after I root?

Disreguard, I wasted so much time, I only did a reboot and I had to power off the phone to get the google spell corrector working with red lines. It would be a bunch of BS if they got rid of it.

I've discovered the first thing I don't like about this phone, several times: if you drop it a few feet onto a carpeted floor, nothing breaks, but the back cover flies off, the battery goes with it and the SD card pops halfway out. That requires some time to set things straight, but it isn't horrible enough to get me shopping again... just have to learn how to stop dropping it.

[edit] I also put a long piece of tape lengthwise over the battery. That way, I hope, the cover can fly off but everything else will remain intact.

Help! I bought this phone for me and it works great. Just got one for my mom, and it is not connecting to the internet. Data is turned on, but the lte icon at the tip is not appearing. Mine is working just fine. We both have straighttalk. I tried turning the data on and off, switching airplane mode on and off, turning phone on and off and resetting to factory settings with no success.
you have to call straight talk. me and my girlfriend both got the same phone and mine worked just fine but hers did the same thing. i put her sim card in mine and it did the same thing. So call straight talk and they will fix it.

we can't find a way to change the default settings to save to the sd card.. it only downloads to the internal memory..

Save what? If you mean downloading apps through Google Play, that's where they go, nuthin you can do about having them automatically download to the SD that I'm aware of. There are, as I think you already know, countless ways to move apps from internal to SD once they're downloaded. But with nearly 4GB of internal available, it shouldn't even be necessary to move them. I have well over two hundred apps on internal, even set to ART runtime, which uses considerably more space. Besides, everything runs faster and smarter off internal.

I've abandoned the Access LTE, got a Samsung Core Prime just to redirect my Straight Talk through Verizon. But I was able to tether both of these phones and several others, without rooting, by installing Klink and connecting via USB.

Thanks. I was hoping to use a custom ROM to gave a bit more peace of mind while rooting. Read it's harder to tell when you're rooting if you have a custom ROM. Not sure if that's true or not though.

How do you like the Core Prime compared to the Access? Verizon was my first choice but AT&T is so much better than Sprint so I'm not complaining too much.

I liked the Access, perhaps even a bit more than the Prime, but they're close enough that I've stayed with the Prime. Twice the internal memory but no ART runtime available, not that it matters.

Just to be clear, rooting and romming are not required if all you want is tethering.

Never heard of ART runtime. I have much to learn. Yep, I know it wasn't required. Just read it was a bit safer to tether on a rooted phone with a custom ROM. Plus, read a lot about custom ROMs and always wanted to try. Seems as though I picked the wrong phone for that.

I think Lollipop uses ART and it'll be a standard thereafter. I was able to convert to ART on my Access but not on my Prime. Didn't really notice a difference, other than it made every file quite a bit larger.

Android Runtime (ART) is an application runtime environment used by the Android operating system. ART replaces Dalvik, which is the process virtual machine originally used by Android, and performs transformation of the application's bytecode into native instructions that are later executed by the device's runtime environment.[1]

Unlike Dalvik, ART introduces the use of ahead-of-time (AOT) compilation by compiling entire applications into native machine code upon their installation. By eliminating Dalvik's interpretation and trace-based JIT compilation, ART improves the overall execution efficiency and reduces power consumption, which results in improved battery autonomy on mobile devices. At the same time, ART brings faster execution of applications, improved memory allocation and garbage collection (GC) mechanisms, new applications debugging features, and more accurate high-level profiling of applications.[1][4][5]

Thanks. Looks like I should read about Android along with my current Python goal. This stuff is interesting.
