[Official] Cricket Referral Discussion Thread, No Links

So it's been another week. No response from Spark. Over a month now since they said someone would be reaching out to me to resolve the missing credits. In the meantime I saw a post on another forum where someone said they emailed customer support through Zendesk and got it resolved. I typed up an email today to Zendesk with the names and dates of the referrals, and they replied right away.

They've now asked me to provide the name, phone number and email of the person I referred. Since I did it through posting the link here at androidforums.com I only have the name of the person as it was shown on the email and on the referral website - I don't know what email they used to register and I don't know their Cricket number. I guess at this point I'm screwed. Since I went to the trouble of typing out the names and dates maybe I'll send that over to Spark to see if I can get any resolution.

I still have a couple that are pending approval, and I have one that hits 4 weeks since it was approved tomorrow (the two before it posted in about 2 weeks). Something is seriously broken with this referral program. I may write the CSR back and point out I can send one email to my state attorney general easier than I can track down six emails and phone numbers for people I've referred. Seriously - I don't think I have a lot to lose at this point.

Latest update: after a few emails back and forth, the rep forwarded my request on, and today I received three credits for $25 and a voice mail from Cricket (that got cut off right after he said, "We're putting three..."

The rep emailed me yesterday asking if I had obtained the names, phone numbers and email addresses of my referrals. I politely wrote her back and said I hadn't yet gotten it, but I was very frustrated that I needed to do it for the following reasons:

  1. The referral website provided me with a link that I had posted to my FB page, where not only my friends, but friends of my friends can see my posts. They can click the link and complete the referrral without ever providing that information to me directly. It could also be shared by my friends.
  2. All of that information they were requesting was obviously provided in order for the referral to be approved, and I had the names and dates from logging into the referral website. I could clearly see approvals and also had the emails. Since it was clearly in Spark's database, I don't think I should need to scrounge it up since they should be able to find it with my name, phone number & email address, along with the name and date of the referral that I had already provided.
  3. They had provided a vehicle to complete the referrals without me getting that information, so why would they expect me to have it now. If that was something I needed they should have made me get it up front, in which case I would obviously have it now.
She wrote me back and said she understood, and we go ahead and put a request in to see what happened. That was yesterday, and I got the three missing credits today. So far so good.

Unfortunately, I now have a 4th that has gone past the 4 week window to credit to my account, so I might be doing this all over again. :-(

What I am worried about is us that are stuck in this loop will always be stuck in this loop! I hope not

Yeah...I hear ya. I just got my ninth approval, so I had my link removed from the referral thread. Customer Service called me again yesterday to follow up and said they showed one that should post to my account this week. If that posts they'll still owe me two. At this point, it's impossible to tell which ones I'm getting paid for and which ones I'm not. I'll give it a few more weeks and then start after any that are still missing at that point. Sigh. :)

I am owed a referral credit from 4 weeks ago. I've sent several e-mails and received several evasive e-mails back. I was told that someone would call me from customer service three weeks ago, and no one has called. Their reps have intentionally evaded my questions, but continue to reply to me. This has been the worst customer service experience I have ever encountered in my 43 years on this earth.

I believe they have directed their reps to intentionally string people along as long as they can to keep them paying for service while they wait to be credited for the referral.

I have called an attorney to start a class action lawsuit.

Mod Edit: No Email addresses in post

So question for people that have USED the referral links. Have you actually gotten the $25 credit? Sounds like the Referrers are having issues so I am curious how it is on the other end.

They are hit or miss, you have to stay on top of them, the older system was much better, but it is what it is.

I have had a few that had to contact Cricket for their referrals but most get them.. It's mainly us that refer that don't..

I should have reset now and haven't so now I am having to email back and forth to get that corrected..

Their system is simply broken.. The good news is cricket will normally make it right if you push and push and push but that takes time and is a hassle haha

I just signed up today, but didn't have anyone to refer me. For the next 29 days I can claim a referral if someone pm's me their number and any other details I may need (name? email?)

Don't think it works like that anymore, you need to click on one of our referral links here and that will give you the info needed to get and give the referral too.
