Help Samsung Galaxy - Where has the "S Note" app gone?

I have a Samsung Galaxy S4 and it has recently updated to 5.0.1.

This seems to be causing battery drain issues, so, I have done a factory reset to see if that fixes it.

However, in doing this, I can no longer find the "S Note" app and I found this really useful to jot down pieces of information.

I am fairly sure this was a standard Samsung app previously.......does anyone know where it has gone and whether it can still be installed?

Do you have the Galaxy apps app? If so, it can be found there. My s6 edge didn't come with s note either but I found it there after making a Samsung account.

I do have something called "Galaxy Apps" and if I go in there and do a search then the closest I can see is "S Note Viewer" - not, unfortunately " Note" itself.

Any help would be most gratefully received!

It should be the second result, I don't see why it wouldn't show up for the s5

Many thanks for this.

However, I am having a bad day and unable to copy the file to the phone!

I have downloaded file from your DropBox - size was 30,996KB

I then connected phone to PC and tried to copy to the phone - it gets about 75% way and then just stays there, never getting any further.

Anybody got any suggestions?

Well this getting seriously weird!

I had copied a few files yesterday, but, they were small (ringtones, wallpaper) and I just tried a few random file now. This is what happened....

8969Kb - OK
19665 Kb - OK
21356 Kb - OK
26497 Kb - Failed (got stuck with 5sec left!)

So, I thought, maybe, I had hit some sort of size threshold. However, I tried one that was 45295Kb and this worked.

I have no idea what is going on!

Ah ha! Just tried it with a different cable and it worked!!!! Very annoying as this is a fairly new cable.

So, the good news is I have the .apk file on the phone, now.

The bad news is that when I select it to install, it spend a few seconds saying "Installing" and then I get a very unhelpful message "x App not installed"

I think the gods are against me on this one!

Right, I've given up - wasted too much time trying to sort this.

I have had a look at S Memo and this seems to do pretty much the same thing as S Note, so, will use that instead.

Many thanks for all your suggestions and help in trying to get it going for me

Eek, sorry that didn't work for you. Maybe with the recent s5 update, sammy did something to where s note isn't compatible anymore.
