Help Clock transparency on S4 Lollipop

Since I upgraded to Lollipop, whenever I start it or reboot, the stock clock on the home screen (not the lock screen) appears with black figures on a white transparent background. A long time later on, sometimes hours, the figures turn to white on a dark transparent background. How can I always keep it with white figures on a dark transparent background, because I always use dark wallpapers?
Thanks for the instructions.

Thanks for the replies.

chanchan05, I do not believe that it follows the time frame because it is not on the weather with clock widget that you mention. It is the simple stock "Clock (Digital) 2 x 1" widget, as you can see on the attached screenshot file. It does have, and always had a whitish transparent background on the widgets page, but it was always on a slightly non bothering dark transparent background when added to the home screen. Only now since I updated to Lollipop the background is sometimes dark as before and as it should be, but it is whitish on most other times. which is very annoying. What is this annoying whitish rectangle doing on the screen?

What about other people using this widget? I would like to know. What can I do to have back what it is has been for two years on this phone without any problem, please?

It might not be an issue at all, and Samsung just up an decided to change the color and gave the new widget with the update. From my experience for example, Samsung made a rather drastic change in widget sets. When I got my P6200 a few years back, I needed to have a separate clock and weather widget if I wanted both info on the homescreen (or download a third party one). A year layer the device was updated to ICS from HC, and the weather widget disappeared and a new clock+weather widget appeared. Could be the same thing in your case.

If it is a bug, it's a rather weird bug. However, since it came with the update, the only way to fix it would be a factory reset, which would work like a reinstallation of the update on a clean device.

OK, thanks chanchan05. Ise that mobiles OSs are a mystery for almost everyone because publishers are mean in information and as I see from here, practically only a developer can go and investigate the code to get the right undoubted answer. Definitely not the same as with PCs. Usually, they don't even give us a choice for anything. Google putting their dirty hands on Linux was the end of a free system for mobiles. So let's leave it like this. Sorry for the time I've made you spend :(.

I think I've found this is a planned issue by Google. I notice that the whitish background rectangle disappears at 6 o'clock pm. Meaning another idiotic idea from Google that they want to impose to people not leaving the user any choice. Google stuff has always been made for aiming the dumb. That is why I avoid to use anything from them. I even had my first phony Gmail account because of the phone. I only use Google things if there is no alternative. So I just downloaded one of the many available clocks on google play and that's it. They will not impose me that stupid background at times they choose. Google spoiled Linux on mobile. They only want spy on people to sell what they can get. I won't let them. Unfortunately US legislation protects those exploiting the people in favour of big corporations and banks, and many other countries copy what is wrong, not also what is right. Here in Europe they get multimillion fines, but that is not enough and does not solve the problems. Going to root my phone and remove all the Google shit in it. It is completely useless for me, just as for so many people not following Google on a leash.

Thank you an again and sorry for the time I made you waste with my problem on this silly subject.

Ah seems I was correct in assuming it's time dependent. Although I think you're putting the blame on the wrong person this time. The Google clock widget doesn't have a background. And the clock widget on the Nexus doesn't have changing backgrounds based on time. That's because the clock widget you have is from Samsung. Note that Samsung replaced lots of the default Google widgets with ones of their own design. An example would be their S Planner and Email apps+widgets. Both of which are quite different from the calendar and email app Google provides.

Don't take me as a Google apologist, but let's try blaming the correct persons responsible. So blame Samsung. Lol.
