Help LG Thrill will not turn on, is there anything I can do?

hello, i have a questions about my lg thrill P925, my power flex button is broken and I was thinking perhaps I could put my sim card into my husbands Motorola Atrix and put some type of app on it that could make my phone power up. Is this at all possible? I do NOT know what I'm doing...just grasping at straws.

Does it not power up even if you remove and reinsert the battery?

If the phone won't power up at all, as opposed to not waking the screen, there is nothing you can do with an app - the OS has to be running for an app to work. In that case hardware repair is your only option.

If the phone is running but you can't wake the screen, an alternative lockscreen app that lets you wake the phone using other buttons might help (my old friend WidgetLocker has such options). You just need to not let the phone sleep until you have it installed and activated/set up. Reboot and keep it awake until done if this is your problem (pull the battery to force a reboot).

Finally got a reaction out of the thing by pulling the battery out while plugged into power cord. The LG screen would come up and then go to the battery screen (showing full battery) and then fade to black again...but it did it on it's own...I wasn't pressing the power button. That's the most activity I've gotten out of the thing in three days... I did try pressing the power button once I noticed it was doing this, but phone never started up.
Guess I will put it in the shop, just sucks because I was told the part isn't available from any of their vendors right now.
I did have a friend offer to let me use their AT&T Palm Pilot (I think that's what they said it was)...so I can just put my sim card in it since I use AT&T as well, right?
