Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

The only hashtag I've ever used is #FirstWorldProblems. I did try Twitter when it first became popular, but then lost interest and deleted my account.

I just don't care what celebs have to say really. I might like their movies or songs or whatever, but Jim Carrey or Tom Cruise or Lady Gaga on Twitter, just doesn't interest me in the slightest.

I've got a Twitter account. I signed up in 2009 just to find out how the Yankees were doing in the playoffs.
Also used it for some benighted business that decided to put the help department there. No social posts.

I have a Twitter account for marketing purposes. I follow a few well-known musicians, and that's basically about it.

I do follow a few news organizations, and some independent ones to get a different spin.

However, I don't follow any actors from the A or B List - I met Jim Carrey on an Ace Ventura set when I was still living in SC. According to some people in craft services, he was a jerk to work with.

I'm not surprised. My brother in CA has worked on hundreds of film sets over the last twenty-five years. What dirt he has shared with me. Actors are human, too.

Just like people who post here - LW

I see a missing post. That's okay.

What grinds my gears????

oooohhhhh..... I would need to write a book about that one!

In fact that would not even suffice - I would have to write entire novels and I don't think even then I wouldn't be anywhere even near finished or satisfied with my discoveries...

I was strolling home from the shops walking in the darkness in my beautiful isolation... and then I crossed paths with some future "heroes" or more commonly known as teenage "gangstas" ...

The one "genius" had it's trousers half way down between it's knees and it's waist and kept on "gorilla" flinging his arms around like some kind of dumb ass "hero" wanna be or the missing link... he must be... "unique"... with his "gang".... "star" cap worn sideways because he must have a dire and serious case of Melanoma on the right side of his insignificant head...

OR - Maybe he likes to feel bigger than what he really is with a bizarre and hard to define inferiority complex and his secret desire and aspiration in life is to become an angry and insignificant gorilla?

So he wants to be an angry gorilla hey?

"Gorilla arms" "winner"

LOLZ - loser!

LOSER

The stupidity of mankind freightens me... I am worried...

Even though I use a smartphone, the old-schooler in me makes it a point to remember the phone numbers that
matter.

In zuben's observation of the evolution of human beings in the past, he doesn't cover the fact that Homo Sapiens became the genetic norm for human beings, after the interbreeding of Neanderthals, Peking Man, and others still yet
to be discovered.

There are people that believe that humans and computers will come together genetically, creating entities that will exist in cyberspace, until they create the corporeal part; Homo Sapiens, 1.5.

Then, there's the genetic manipulation school of thought, which I called Homo Sapiens 2.0; in fact, the species could have a different name entirely.

Certainly, changes to our species will come. My only hope is that future generations and iterations will become less warlike, and possess more empathy toward all entities of this planet; and, toward the planet itself.

A rant of hope, if I may - LW

As an afterward, it is good to see Stinky Stinky back in the rants - his tune, "The Black Keys" (played on a piano), still resides in my SD card's mp3 files. Be well, Stinky Stinky ;)

OK Reddit bit the dust. No doubt there will be something else to take its place.

Anyone remember Digg or Delicious (del.icio.us), that were once all the rage, and the darlings of "dot com" social news sites?

I remember Digg. Read it until they changed a policy and you could only log in from a social site, not the name and password Digg had issued/allowed for login.

Ah, Gmash. So cool. Yet, in Greek Mythology, there's the story of Daedulus and Icarus... myself, I would prefer body mods like the character 'Peter Quill' in the film "Guardians Of The
Galaxy".

Imagine what the character 'Rocket' did in 'The Kyln', a prison in space. He was a genetically-altered raccoon, and he had 'Groot' as a humanoid house plant/muscle.

'Rocket' short-circuited the manufactured gravity in 'The Kyln', disabling the prison guards and allowing 'the Guardians' to escape.

Happy fourth, everyone - LW
