Help Beep only once ringtone?

I want to achieve the following: When I have an incoming call, I would like my HTC Desire S to make a short beep only once and then shut up without repeating that beep (ala Nokia feature).

I have realised that the HTC Desire S as standard insists on repeating any ringtone as long as the incoming call is pending, so does anyone know of any solution?, e.g.:

1. Is there an app available somewhere solving this issue (please do not point me towards all the general sound profile creating/switching apps that DON'T solve this issue).
2. Can anyone point me towards a good ringtone editor tool that allows me to make a beep + e.g. 2 minutes of silence (preferably without too much speaker hissing during the silent phase)?

Thanks a whole lot to anyone contributing!!

I don't know of any way to make the HTC Desire S ring once, not even with an app that creates profiles.

I've created what you're after before using Audacity. It's not an app, but a piece of software for the PC. Open the sound file containing the tone you want, edit it, then add as much silence to it as you want (Generate > Silence).

The easiest way is via the USB cable. Connect the phone as a 'Disk Drive' and the SD card will show as a removable disk drive on your computer.

There are 4 default directories for sound files on you phone's SD card - Alarms, Music, Notifications and Ringtones. (If they're not already there, then you can create them). Simply copy/paste your ringtones to the respective directory, e.g. Removable Disk:\Ringtones for your ringtones, Removable Disk:\Notifications for your SMS sounds, etc.

The Desire S will recognise and play the following sound file formats: .aac, .amr, .ogg, .m4a, .mid, mp3, .wav, .wma.

Thank you so much! I have used all your suggestions and I now have a short beep followed by 60 sec of silence as my ringtone. Perfect to have in meetings etc. Excellent help! Thanks again! RonHatl

I downloaded an App on my Samsung called Quick Profiles, and I created a 1 minute MP3 using Audacity which has a 1 second beep followed by silence. However, when I try to set the MP3 file using the App or the phone setting it gives me a message that says "Wrong file type, please select again.". Can anyone help or advise? Perhaps share the MP3 file you created?
