I'm using Osmand+ for navigation and it's best. Couple weeks ago i got problem - map picture is not stabile anymore. It's like GPS signal gets lost every couple seconds for very short time and this causes map zooming and direction jumping.
Can anyone suggest app to record GPS signal quality and analyse it from graph?

I know this, but signal loss is so short that "gps status" shows good reception all the time (ex. 18/23)

Hi, welcome to Android Forums.

You could have a look at GPS Test Plus :-

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.chartcross.gpstestplus

which I use and have found to be a very useful app. Amongst a number of functions it gives you a read out of the satellites found and their respective varying signal strengths.

You could try the free version and see if it is of any help to you (In the reviews a number of people comment on it helping to solve problems).

I hope you find it useful.

:)

That's pretty cool. I'm getting this indoors

Is that any good?

So you're having a problem where Osmand from time to time teleports you to another location instantaneously.
In Osmand settings, do you have the "Use Kahlman filter" checked (it should be).
In Osmand settings, do you have the "snap to road" checked? (it should be, if you're staying on road, then again if already checked, it might be interesting to see what happens when you uncheck it...maybe your maps don't correspond to reality and it's trying to find the closest road to your actual position)
Is it showing you something-teen satellites connected (it should be).

If all above are correct, I would venture to say the problem is not signal quality (one satellite might drop out, but not many all at once)
It might be going under a power-line. Or maybe severe shaking of your phone on its stand/holder (which the phone has to compensate for when it considers position of satellites relative to phone)
Just my thoughts fwiw. I'm no gps expert.

I think it's more clear if you look at screen recording: http://youtu.be/YMJ4z-0XrE8
I have tried with all kind different settings, still same. Power line and shaking are also eliminated.
It seems like occasionally Osmand is not getting answer from android gps service (hardware failure?)
If I could record gps signal quality with some app, then maybe I could see those service drops.

But I use also Sygic, OruxMaps, Here and they have no problems at all?
It shows that Osmand is less tolerant to gps signal quality.

The gps test program as I recall measures signal strength for each satellite. When it reaches a certain threshhold deemed usable, it turns green. The number on top of your Osmand shows the number of satellites that have reached that threshhold (10/20 in the video). That should be enough that it leads me to believe signal strength is not your issue. The fact that other navigation apps don't have a problem also leads toward same conclusion. (and by the way even in the unlikely signal strength were the issue, what would you do about it… not much can be done).

So the most productive avenue to investigate imo is Osmand and factors that affect it uniquely. Did you check the settings mentioned above? Also maybe clear cache on the app (go to settings / apps / all apps / Osmand / scroll down until you see the clear cache button)
