Hello, so I was converting Google's messaging app into a system app through titanium backup to replace the stock xperia one, but I stupidly force stopped the app as it was taking way too long, now the app isn't appearing in titanium backup, it does however appear in the app drawer but it force closes as soon as you open it, plus even if not I'm trying to do anything with it it will randomly pop-up saying it force closed and take me to its screen in the settings where it gives me an option to enable it... is there anyway I can fix this I have I screwed up ? :/

Try using a root file explorer, move it back, check that permissions are set to rw-r--r--. If that doesn't work, run fix permissions from custom recovery or check out "Fix Permissions"

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.stericson.permissionfix

Apps moved to system don't allow work and will gain additional system access - /system/app ought not be considered just a spare area to move an apk file (the only thing that you're actually moving and the often the smallest part of the app bundle).

Sorry for late reply, the fix permissions app didn't work for me as it didn't show up in it, how would I do it the other way you mentioned? Thanks :)

It's in the system folder, not in the data folder.
Use the root file explorer, move it to /data/app and make sure that the permissions are set as I suggested above.

Do a power reset on your phone, or, a battery pull for 60 seconds - whichever applies to your model.

If it still fails, run fix permissions again, it ought to work for you with the app in data.

Let me know if that helps.

Woah, it worked! Thanks so much!

Here's how I did it if anyone else has the same problem:

I have an xperia T with an inbuilt battery so I couldn't remove it, instead I did a hard reset by holding power and vol. Up while the phone was off till the 3 continuous vibrations happened, after that it showed up as frozen as a system app in titanium backup, after defrosting it worked perfectly, thanks again!

Hello, I'm here to ask too
Let's try this instead -

Using a root file explorer, does the app appear in /system/app, /data/app, or both?

I try to convert Link2SD to my system app. But now it disappeared and then i try to use root explorer and delete some file buak.

then i try to install it from playstore and it said "can't be installed. (Error code:-505)".
Can you help me out from this problem.?

Same thing happened to me once when I installed System app using Lucky patcher. I installed **mod removed link** as system app and it disappeared, but then I found out that I simply did not enable showing system apps in Lucky Patcher.

So try going into options and check the box that says show system apps.

Hello and welcome!
Thanks for the input and I removed your link to that site due to the fact it offers the option to bypass IAP's which we'd rather not provide links to :p

No worries, just letting you know :)
