Funky was one of the good guys... didn't stand for bs but would see Hell freeze over before he gave up on a problem if he thought he could help someone. AF will be a duller place without him.

I don't visit much often anymore but was made aware of this tragedy. Wow, so sad to hear about this. I nudged funky quite a bit to join staff when I was a part and while he was always flattered, he was content with just being one of the best members of the site. Big loss all around.

Just the other week, in Bobcat's memorial thread, he speculated about whether anyone would know if he checked-out. I almost replied that if he didn't post for 36 hours I'd start worrying about him, which I would have meant as a joke...

My first encounter with him in the forum involved a bit of a misunderstanding, but he handled it with such grace that I realised straight away that he was one of the good guys. He was always happy to help anyone (at almost any hour of day or night!), and would always liven up any thread he joined. One of the people who really made this a community, and someone I'm very sorry I never met in real life. I'll miss his humour, his self-deprecation and his enthusiasm.

Au revoir pal.

I've just picked up this awful, awful news. I've recently had a few chats with Funky - usually hijacking a thread with some banter just about related to the original post - one of the the last ones was about using my biking gloves in 'Glove mode' - I will never forget his response - typical Funky. I will never forget you either Funky ... mate.

Apparently I've missed out on meeting another good person.....
One thing I have a hard time learning to live with.. Is the idea that.. I'm not going to meet all the better people on this planet.. Let alone the forums....
I'm truly sad to hear of his passing.... And I'm sad that his family has to miss someone dear to them....
One can only hope his travels after leaving this existence will be peaceful and safe....

Funky was always the comedian (when he wasn't busy devoting all his free time to helping others.)

Now, I may be reading too much into it, but if you look at his post history, it looks like he may have had an idea the time was coming. Literally his entire last day on here spent making sure everyone else was taken care of. Truly a stand-up guy
