Hey! So let me guess... you Bricked your Prevail 2? Yeah, me too... I did it by using the CWM recovery in the play store after I gained Root... I created a backup and saved to my SD card, rebooted my phone, then got stuck in a boot loop of flashing blue screens, pretty trippy. What about you? Did ya have a similar experience? Or was it from Framaroot? or some thing else? Well worry NO MORE! After painstakingly scouring the internet, looking for someone to just tell me what i had to do to fix my phone, i couldnt find anything. Sure, You'll find a lot of the files that you need, Even a Stock ROM, but it seemed all the links were broken..that's what im currently uploading EVERYTHING YA NEED to google Drive, to keep them up there for anyone else who has the same issue.(WE STILL HAVE ROOT TOO!) Also, a step by step instruction for the less technologically gifted folks. (I am NOT a professional, nor amateur, more like....novice, so I'm just going to show you how I got it to work for me..)

--Link broken? Email me at psigraphine@gmail.com__

***YOU WILL HAVE A VIRGIN MOBILE BOOT ANIMATION, CANT HELP THAT***
--DOWNLOAD ALL OF THESE FILES LINKED, I THINK YOU NEED THEM ;)--
--Save them to your desktop--

*LINKS START HERE*
I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY FURTHER DAMAGE YOU MAY CAUSE, THIS IS SIMPLY A GUIDE TO ASSIST IN RESTORING YOUR DEVICE TO WORKING ORDER. DO NOT CONTINUE IF YOU HAVE NO IDEA WHAT ANY OF THIS MEANS... SELL THE JUNK AND MOVE ON.
1. Can you get into the Download screen on your device?
{{{while the phone is off, hold in the Volume down key along with the power key till the screen turns on. RELEASE the power key, but keep the volume down button pressed until the DL screen comes up, A warning about custom OS yada yada yada, just hit VOLUME UP to continue}}}}}
  • ------(YES?)-----SWEET!! WE CAN FIX IT!
  • -----(NO?)------- There might still be a chance, but I have no knowledge of that advanced stuff.
2. You open the Odin 3.04 folder, and launch the program. When it loads, DONT CLICK A DARN THING YET! lol :D
  • *****((2A))****SET YOUR ANDROID INTO DOWNLOAD MODE, AND CONNECT VIA USB PORT TO PC. UNCHECK THE AUTO REBOOT option.
  • *****((2B))****Then click the word BOOTLOADER. and select the file from your desktop named RECOVERY.TAR.MD5.
>>When there is a green box lit up and the text saying success or paired or something, you can hit start.
Dont touch your phone.. let it do its thing, it might take a bit (7-8 mins) but eventually it SHOULD load up. THIS IS A POOR QUALITY FIX AT THIS POINT, BUT NOT THE FINAL PRODUCT

3. Dont sign up for google anything, dont log in, nothing. SKIP IT ALL, the whole point of me doing this, was so my PC would finally read the phone as a connected device and I could access the SD card now.
  • (START MENU/COMPUTER/SPH-M840/PHONE STORAGE/SDCARD/DOWNLOAD)
***This is where you drag the files ringstockrom.zip, rb3-6.0.1-t1.zip, and UPDATE-superSU-something.zip into

4. Turn off your phone now, and put it back in DOWNLOAD MODE (Step 1)
5. Repeat step 2.
6. Reconnect to the PC via USB just like before.

7. Again, click BOOTLOADER BUT MAKE SURE YOU DO EXACTLY THIS!
  • >>>THIS TIME SELECT THE CWM_PREVAIL2_RING FILE INSTEAD<<<
  • ***>>**MAKE SURE AUTO REBOOT HAS A CHECK NEXT TO IT THIS TIME**<<***
8. If ya got the green light hit start......Now just wait a lil...
At this point, when your phone restarts, you might get a blue flash, but you SHOULD be at the recovery screen, using the volume keys to navigate and the power key to select.
  • !!DO THE FOLLOWING EXACTLY !
  1. GO DOWN TO ADVANCED, WIPE DALVIK CACHE.....WHEN FINISHED
  2. NOW GO BACK (AT THE BOTTOM)
  3. SECONDLY, WIPE CACHE PARTITION
    • After you do what is outlined ^^ above^^ TWO times continue then to
    • LASTLY, WIPE DATA/FACTORY RESET. MY PHONE GOT CAUGHT UP A CLEARING CACHE FOR LIKE 5 MINS...
>>>REBOOT SYSTEM NOW
9. Once the device restarts, it should automatically return you to the Recovery screen again.
!!ALMOST FINISHED!
SELECT "INSTALL ZIP"
  • --CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD
  • ---GO DOWN TO DOWNLOADS/
  • -----SELECT RINGSTOCKROM.ZIP
  • -------NAVIGATE DOWN TO YES
Now i dont remember if your device restarts here or not, so if it does, just pop the battery out quick before it boots up. To return to the recovery menu now, while the phone is off, you hold in the volume UP key along with the power key until the device boots, then you let go of the power button. Same as the Download menu, but opposite. But if it doesnt restart, then even easier!

SELECT "INSTAL ZIP"
  • --CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD
  • ---GO DOWN TO DOWNLOADS/
  • -----SELECT rb3-6.0.1-t1.zip
  • -----NAVIGATE DOWN TO YES.

    FINAL ONE, SELECT "INSTALL ZIP"
  • --CHOOSE ZIP FROM SDCARD
  • ---GO DOWN TO DOWNLOADS/
  • -----SELECT UPDATE-SuperSU V1.94 .zip
  • -----NAVIGATE DOWN TO YES.

Thats it! You're samsung galaxy prevail 2 should now be restored to factory settings, with the exception of the Virgin Mobile splash screen. MAKE BACK UP FILES !!
For some reason there's a Device Administrator set called "PHONE INFO" that you cannot deactivate, however the permissions it had made me uncomfortable, I downloaded ES FILE EXPLORER and just searched the app for "Phone Info" and deleted the .apk and .odex file of it.. I hope this helps! I couldnt find a step by step outline on how to do any of this, and a lot was trial and error. So best of luck to you guys! Stay savvy.

**THANKS A LOT FOR EVERYONE WHO CREATED THESE FILES TO BEGIN WITH! WITHOUT YOU, AND YOUR GENIUS, THIS NEVER COULD HAVE HAPPENED!!

//++++\\- The Ringstock.zip link was reported to be no longer working, however I cannot verify that because it works for me.. If you cannot access the link, send me an email, and i'll have to personally upload to google docs. Thanks for the input!

Psigraph, I suscribed and went through all the yada-yada just and only to THANK YOU, everything worked perfectly, not just that but the phone is also rooted now.

There is so many people that just read and employ guides like this, but don't even mention if it worked, that is not bad unless there is no other reply for a main post like this case. Or when someone discovers the fix that you can't find anywhere on the net, it is so good for humanity to post it, but guess the majority is just lazy to even suscribe after going through these well done guides. Now I will show off to my client, after he went through 5 technicians without success... and charge him extra money ;)

Good riddance with all this you harvest.

That made my day! I wasn't expecting any replies, or anything, But it's a good feeling to know that I helped someone! :D:D This was the first device i ever attempted to root, and when I failed, I was devastated. After 5 months of searching and searching, I've finally found all the puzzle pieces, and now everyone has access!! I'm just happy that no one else had to deal with the headache I did!
