Well, I'll start this off. I, for one, am really excited about the 3rd gen Moto G. I'm still rocking my 1st gen and love it. The new one is a great step up and more to love.

Very happy with Gen 1 phone, and thinking strongly about the new one, depending largely on what results I see published on the new camera. Except for wanting a much improved experience with the camera, I couldn't be happier with the original 4.5-inch unit.

I have received the phone on Saturday, I underestimated the phone based on it hardware specs I have a long list of phone which include Nexus 5, OnePlus One, Mi3, Yuphoria, Samsung G4

To be honest I find the phone surpising good the UI is smoth and almost stock with some cool features added by Motorola

However I am dissapointed with the camera app and have not really rested the camera

However my first impressions of the phone are its a great phone which is surprising considering the hardware

If it's just the App, try Open Camera. If you can please give more feedback on the Camera, especially in low light.

The specs on this phone seem similar to the Moto X Gen 1. I'm looking at both and the deciding factor will likely be the Camera if the other specs are relatively similar.

How do I open the camera, the quality is not that great will try night shots today and upload the pics later on but its no way a good camera may be its a software issue my MI3 can many many times better shots then G3

"Open Camera" is a camera app that you download from the Google Play store. Here's the direct link: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=net.sourceforge.opencamera&hl=en
You can download it, install it, then use it to take pictures. It may be better than the stock camera app.

Yes you are right the issue is not with the Camera but the sofware will send you the images shortly

Infact the pictures in sunlight the stock camera is better I think i turned off autofocus or something and the camera improved.
I was trying to upload through Flickr but could not will do it tomorrow

Hi! I am still having issues uploading the images can you suggest a site.

Also the more i use the phone the more I like it it is not great but it is good at everything it does and the battery life is also decent I got one and half days of usage

imgur.com is generally my go-to for posting images to forums - it even generates the proper embed codes for you.

Alternatively, you can also upload images directly to our forum via the "Upload a File" button in your web browser (or the Attach icon in Tapatalk).

Edit: or if you want to stick with Flickr, you need to link directly to the image file itself. Easiest way is to click the Share icon and then choose the BBcode option. Like so:

I've read these posts, mostly very positive for the phone. A question I would pose at this point is, in your opinion, which is the better value right now and considering future usability, the Moto G 3rd Gen or the Moto X 2nd Gen (not the forthcoming Style/Pure Edition scheduled for release in fall 2015)?

Yes with exchange offer and better processor and display Moto X is still a better choice however the price point is very different the upcoming Moto X are really good of paper hence if you have the budget please wait for them

Just got myself couple of cases for orzly the first one is a flexislim case in smoke black color.

The fitting is perfect the material is also good its not paper thin which is good as will basic protection in case of drops which is a good thing

Also the cuts for all the ports and buttons are perfect, they phone snugs in easily without much effort and the case hugs the phone perfectly not lose from any ends

I just purchased the 16GB variant of this phone, should be here in Sept. I was happy with 1st gen without 4G.
My Nexus 5 (daily driver) battery does not to hold charge as well as in the beginning. Im pretty sure I will be happy with this one. The new Nexus 5 2015 will probably cost twice as much as this phone.

I did receive the 16 GB. It is pretty good so far. I had minimally set it up right before I traveled across the state of Michigan. I had no problems while I was gone MPCS service was spot on. Everything was decent. Pictures were decent, navigation via Bluetooth through to Hands-free link was good. It told me turn by turn w/o me looking at phone for directions, volume is loud, battery good.
Cons: I don't like the fact that apps don't close automatically when I leave it, and home screens don't auto-rotate. For the most I have to hit power button to awaken screen when I miss the lock or notification icons.
I'm going to look at root and ROMs to see what I want to do.
With the last few phones I've had I root it within first couple of days. This one is decent without root so far.

Update:
Root Moto G3...finally. Installed a custom ROM and kernel. Also attached a Qi coil for wireless charging. This setup is great. I am having much fun. Reminds me of OG Nexus 5. Also 32 GB SD card.
aflick I sould be hearing from you at tax time.
