Fear the Walking Dead discussion

Ok I'll try a separate thread for FTWD. Just watch the second episode this morning after recording it last night. Liking it okay so far. I'll keep watching. I'm hoping for a severe character transformation of the main group of protagonists after the bottom falls out. As of now they are all members of a very boring suburban element, maybe with the exception of Nick the drug addict

Fear The Walking Dead starts tonight at 9 with a 90 minute premiere. Who's going to watch? I was going to start a new thread but figured it would be simpler to just discuss it here. Should be interesting to see how it all started. I hope it's done right. There's also a new Talking Dead at 8 about the upcoming season of the main show.

As a WD fan, I'm gonna watch it but I must admit that my expectations are kind of low based on the trailers I've seen and the actors that are in it. But who knows maybe I'll be surprised. And yes I think we should keep the thread here because there's going to be a lot of cross comparison between the two shows

It broke ratings records but I bet next week won't equal up. I'm going to keep on tuning in for a little while to give it a chance but I won't stay with it if they don't add some of the incredible acting and comic book style characters we all love from walking dead. We do have to remember this all stems from a comic book. There's supposed to be an added touch of the ridiculous to it.

I didn't like it when
the mom/blond guidance counselor and teen raid the food closet at the high school, stock up, get attacked, KILL the zombie, then leave the school without all the food.
- also didn't like that she still hasn't told her daughter what the heck is going on!

I thought the sane thing. They went through all that, then left the food?
Still liked it overall, though.

Possible justification (I'm reaching): society hasn't fallen yet. These people still have a fear and expectation of legal repercussions for their actions and milfmom just killed someone. That could possibly be reason to stop drop and roll on out of there quickly. (I DID say I was reaching. Lol)

The newness of the situation does make it seem more intense. They are not jaded yet like the survivors on TWD, and I felt that as a viewer during the fire extinguisher head-bashing scene.

it sure is taking its time .. get the zombies going...

I don't get how the news and authorities are not giving out info.
I would think that they would call schools, hospitals, news stations, and police first.

we get 1 person here with Ebola.. and everyone is running around talking about it.
the way the people are acting.. it is annoying.

Yeah, this week was definitely a little slow. I get the feeling it's going to speed up next week.

I still see the main characters is being a little too soft for a Walking Dead style apocalypse. And just like in walking dead, where are all the hardened black and Mexican gang members that would thrive in this environment. The only demographic that's represented by their negative side are the white trash.

wow.. now that you mentioned it...

drug dealer
boyfriend
school principal

LOL .. that is just funny! and kind of sad.
black does matter! (NO.. I don't back this movement)

well there was the FIRST zombie at the beginning..
drugged out female blonde ...
we did get her name... later.. in 2nd episode. I think.
but she has no speaking parts.. just growls :p

PS...
everyone matters.. no need to specify color.

in that article.. it said that it was a diverse cast.. and even TWD is getting better it.
seems to me.. they only notice 3 races: Black, white, and Latino

I am Asian.. and where are we?
TWD.. has only had 1 Asian dude... I don't remember seeing any more
FTWD... I have not seen any...

ASAIN are immune to the zombie virus! go yellow power!
Only one Asian, but he's the baddest mofo in the show. Glen is always been my favorite character, even if he has softened up a little. Amazing what love will do. Lol
