Wear and iOS

By now many have seen that Wear is supported on iOS 8.2+ beginning with the LG Urbane.

Just for the record, that's not entirely the whole picture, the Moto 360 works as well -

Non-Google apps not allowed for any of it and no wifi support.

Not suggest that we all care, but if an iBuddy asks if your Moto 360 is something that they could try, the answer is evidently now yes.

I want to pair my 360 with an iPhone, just to see what it looks like. And then I soak it in disinfectant overnight before repairing with my Nexus.

I haven't tried it, since I don't have an iPhone, but all reports and review says it works with many asterisks afterwards. My take on it is that they will pair with an iPhone and you will receive notifications but anything beyond that may be a less than satisfactory wearable experience.

So far when using Android Wear with an iPhone you can use Apple Calendar, "OK Google", email notifications, text notifications, check heart rate, count steps, check weather and weather forecast.

Swiping right to left has Settings, Daily Tracking, Heart Rate, Agenda, Alarms, Fit, Flashlight, Stopwatch, Timer, Translate, and Weather.

Android Wear has 40 available watch faces with the ability to download others.

Watch Settings include Mute Alarms, Theater Mode, Brightness Mode, Brightness Adjust, Change Watch Face, Font Size, Always On Screen, Wrist Gestures On/Off, Airplane Mode, Accessibility Mode, Screen Lock On/Off, Factory Reset, Restart, Power Off, and About.

I've had the Huawei Watch for about 2 months now and everything works as it should.

Great info Jim. I might try to talk my iphone-toting spouse into trying a relatively inexpensive Android wear watch (I think she'd like the zenwatch). Maybe I'll take some time to try pairing her phone to my watch the next time I have to reset my watch.

In the meantime, out of curiosity, , can you clear a notification from the watch so that it disappears from the phone?

electricpete: Just tested it. I cleared the notification (email) and it did indeed clear it from my iPhone 5.

As a side note. Once in a while I re-boot the iPhone. The watch, so far, has paired to the phone all by itself; the little dickens.
