Metro PCS - Major Changes

I have the lumia 640 from metro. Insider preview running with windows 10 and android apps installed on it. Project Astoria was leaked which Is why I am able to port any android app to my phone. This little thing was frustrating without the apps that I needed and loved on android, but now I can port them, and I'm loving this phone.

Even that I like the hacker spirit and way to figure out how to beat the big corporation, I like the read that T-Mobile (and I'd think Metro) will be going after the folk that use big amounts of data because I've got to believe that it does degrade the experience of the other 99% of the users.

I saw this earlier today.

I've got that phone too. My read is similar, the hardware of the phone is decent, but the windows Mobile OS seriously lags compared android by itself, and that lack of apps is unacceptable.

Seems like for a month we've been hearing that there will be a general release soon for Windows 10 for the phone, but come on this is 2015.

I've got the 4 for $100 plan, and because one relative left, I had an empty line, and an upgrade opportunity. And the Windows phone was grating on me.

So I bought the LG Stylo, and now I've got two phones at once, the LG Stylo and the Windows Lumina 640.

The Stylo is a really smooth phone to enter text from. GPS accuracy is a step up. The camera on automatic takes good photos. Battery life feels good After two or three days, not sure about the size, it might be too big. Also, had some issues with hard to read the screen in bright sunlight. Maybe both issues are me getting used to the device, and getting the settings correct on it.

Check and see if you have auto brightness as a setting in display.

right. October 1, is a new season, but the phones are the same. Also seems like the promotions are rolled over. Mexico calls like from the US. 2 lines for $50 on certain phones, and free okay phone for customers porting in from a different cell phone company.

I can confirm that Metro PCS will be getting the Samsung Galaxy Grand Prime. Here are the specs for the T-mobile version(it should be the same as ours):http://www.t-mobile.com/cell-phones/samsung-galaxy-grand-prime.html. Not bad, though the 8gb of storage is a little disappointing. I'm curious what the promotional price for it will be and will it be available for the 30 dollar a month plan?

New zte phone called "zte obsidian" specs are on the low end .....very very low end. Imo

I agree confed. Anytime one can get a quad-core cpu and lte into a budget package, can't be all bad. I just want a 5'' phone with lte that's compatible with metro's 30 dollar a month plan.

Not necessarily I have the Samsung Galaxy light and its a 1.4 ghz quad core processor and gets pretty laggy at times just to go back to the home screen from an app.

Finally! According to Metro's website, the Hydro Wave is now available on the 30 dollar a month plan. Nice! As much as I've enjoyed using the Leon and the great development around it, I still craved a 5inch screened device. The Hydro Wave has a relatively nice feature set and the promotional price makes it too good to pass up.
Glad for you.
I hear you on screen size:
I'm now hoping for 6" when the time upgrading Stylo rolls around.
