Root Root Lg Volt 2 No computer

Hello so I just successfully rooted the boost mobile Lg Volt 2 running 5.1.1. I didn't need a computer and is very simple. I have only tested on my phone so I am not responsible for any bricked devices. Use at your own risk.

1. I googled kingroot.apk and clicked the firrootst link which was androidxda website. Scroll down and download the latest version of kingroot apk.

2. Install the apk like any other apk. After installation swipe up. Swipe up again to get through the messages from kingroot. You will then come to a screen that says no root there is a root way found try it.

3. Press the center button to root and let it do its tthing. Will be a circle with a percentage let this work. After its done it should say success. No with this app the app is the root admin like supersu. So you grant apps root via this app also. You can convert to super su.

4. To convert to supersu google and download app called super su me. Download and install. After install it will ask to grant super user permisson allow it. Then press the blue button in the middle. It will then remove all kingroot files and install supersu. After its done open supersu it will ask to update binary press okay and then press normal. It will take a few minutes but after will be succesfull. Reboot your device and voila root for the new lg volt 2 Very simple.

I see some people have had boot loop issues with this route. Please those with bootloop issues did you use the supersu-me.apk?
If so those who did not have bootloop issues did you keep kingroot-su or did you switch to supersu-me as well. There might be a issue with supersu-me scripts with the volt 2 I don't know yet. Please reply or comment letting me know thank you.

The super su me apk will be found at the same website androidxda dot com. Google how to replace kinguser with supersu, click the androidxda link in google go to the website and download super su me.

I followed the instructions and I want to confirm that this indeed does work. I have the new Volt 2 and because of this I am now rooted! Whoop whoop!

Followed the instructions though I picked up the required files from XDA. Had no issues and it works as well. Now to figure out how to get a custom recovery onto this device.

Hopefully the bootloader doesn't cause too much of an issue with getting custom recovery. I know some of the other lg phones are being difficult.

I just picked up the Volt2 but haven't rooted yet.

Followed instructions, phone seemed fine until reboot. Now just goes to boot logo and stalls.

You can try a factory reset to see if that might help. With phone off hold volume down + power until you see Factory Reset. You will lose everything but hopefully your phone will start up.

If that doesn't help, there's not much else you can do except try to send to Lg for repair. As of yet there's no unbrick method for the Volt2.

I don't really trust Kingroot so if you try again, use the other method to root.

Kingroot worked well for me on the Volt2. Downloaded from the Kingroot website and it rooted my LG Volt2 fast and safe. I have root access and the phone is functioning as expected.

P.S.
I had to replace the first LG Volt2 I bought one week ago due to getting a "lemon" the first time. (the battery wouldn't hold a charge) Kingroot woked on both phones.

This phone replaced my ZTE N9100 that developed charging problems. Couldn't fix it so I bought the Volt2. (I hated the charge port location on the N9100 anyway.)

I was at the point of restarting my phone after installing super su me fee and it got to the lg screen and is stuck there it will not reboot hard reset or soft reset any suggestions?

Can't really do anything without the stock firmware. There are no links anywhere for it and lg will not provide them. They say it's the phone companies responsibilities.

I would suggest putting an RMA on it through lg and they will fix it. It doesn't matter that it's rooted. They really don't care.

I went on lg open source web site and downloaded lollipop v4 tried to install it through recovery mode install zip from sd card (not sure if that would reset it) and I got E: wrong footer and E: no verification signature there is an adb option also on recovery settings not sure if I can use that

You understand that is just source code right? It needs to be compiled not flashed. After you compile the room you could flash it.

Just wanted to chime in here on this, I have through Boost mobile the LG Volt 2/LS751, tried several ways to root it with no luck. I found this tutorial over here, it's an Auto-Uninstall script for Kingroot, after you have installed it. This will uninstall Kingroot for you and do what needs to be done.

I read a lot of bad things about Kingroot, about how it may sneakily install or change stuff on your phone and put spyware type stuff on it, but the Kingroot guy who made it says no. So, who knows. All I know is I have $80 worth of Root-Only apps that I could not use, and this was the only root method that worked for me.

I tried all the medthods over at xda that were listed, no luck. Well this Kingroot worked. I googled kingroot and it took me right to their direct-site, I got the Kingroot apk from there, installed it, then ran the Script at this site:

I had a bunch of errors, but it worked, then I uninstalled it, and updated the supersu file, then actually bought the pro version after all that.

Not an extremely thorough walk thru, I actually left the folder that I copied into my phone there, it's still there, not sure if I was supposed to delete it afterwards, it didnt say. (a folder called: mrw)

Anyway, thought I would share this.

I am guessing you did the manual way of supersu-me? Instead of using the supersu-me.apk?

Kingroot was the only app that was able to root my Volt 2. The problem was that it also converted itself to a system app and couldn't be deleted without supersume or possibly the script in this thread. Anybody have any success with free tethering or debloating this device? So far, using an app called System App Uninstaller, I've deleted most of the Google, all of Boost, and LG apps but over 4 gig of system stuff still control most of the phone storage.

I followed the instructions exact then purchased the pro version of super su. I was even able to fully unroot and factory reset the phone and do it all over again. I cant find a single trace of kingroot, just follow the directions exact, nevermind any errors. Its still works right. As far as i can tell. LoL

This does not use Super SU ME.

Forgot to mention just in case its not known you have to enable developer options on the phone and enable the 2 options and leave them that way. The enable usb debugging and enable oem unlock before rooting. Also i did delete the folder afterwards that i mentioned above.
