GTA 5 (official)

Really? I'm about half way through and I've been playing for about 24 hours. I haven't even done many of the activities around LS such as golf or tennis. I haven't done any of the race missions either as the first one I did in the main story line to open up the rest kind of annoyed me.

Yeah seriously and I'm talking the main story BTW!

it's an awesome game with literally TONS of open space in there, even the ability to finally go INSIDE buildings for a change, but i'm VERY disappointed in the graphics. the jaggies, draw distances are HORRID on a PlayStation 3 (haven't bought the Xbox version). given that the PS3 can do SO MUCH MORE (look at Uncharted and God of War) it makes me disappointed that R* was so lazy in doing this game. no anti-aliasing, no draw distances, framerate skips during high speed chases, etc, buildings that render and show as you get closer (remember the Sega Saturn and Daytona USA?)

I'm curious to those saying its short. Me and my son played this weekend, just got the game last week.

Maybe the game plays different depending on the choices you make though out? Without giving anything away...
at a standoff at the beginning, I stayed and tried to shoot it out, my son when he played ran. There were different cut scenes for me and him based on those 2 choices. Like I know for heists you have 2 options: run n gun or go quietly. And you have to choose which way before the heist.

Regardless, I am a fanatic for side missions in games, just to develop my character, make him/her stronger, better, etc. I've been playing for a week now....and I cant see me being finished in another week.

The details in this game are nice....crash a car hard enough in the front and the lights dont work....fire flies at night....some other stuff I dont wanna be seen as giving away:
Point a gun at a person driving a vehicle and they bail out, leave the car. Cars you just leave lying around get towed. I think you have to park cars like in real life, in spaces, at the curb on the right side of the street, watch for no parking spots, etc. So far I had 3 cars towed and I dont know why...lol. Shooting thru car windows like if a person is hiding behind a car you can shoot them, shooting and breaking the glass. ...Love the level of detail in this game.

Well I think the reason why they're saying it's short is when compared to other GTA's, GTA V is short. Especially since the game only has 69 story missions and when you do the heist preparations they actually count as a story mission. So with the heist setups counting as story missions that leaves the rest of the missions as actual missions. It can last a little longer if you do the strangers and freaks, but it's unfortunate that Michale only has a few and Trevor and Franklin have the most. I did complete the game and wont spoil anything, but there weren't many choices or decisions as far except for heists where it's option A or B. Overall it's a very fun game and I really enjoyed it but what I find funny is that in GTA Online there's more things to do than in the story. :p

This is my first GTA experience, but am I the only one who thinks the UI for this game is horrible?

I mean in game the UI is alright but at start up it is just bad in my eyes.. My biggest complaint is you have a few seconds to decide if you are playing storymode or online mode, and 9 times outa 10 I miss that selection and have to wait for storymode to load, then I have to pause and go in to online through there.. The next thing is, is that you have no choice of what kind of online play you want to do if you select online play from the beginning screen.

I would think that they would have an intro menu where you can decide, online or story.. and that wouldn't just choose one for you after some time. Then from there if you choose storymode i would expect to see load story or new.. and from online i would expect to see all the online options, join crew, join friends, choose character, play solo, private session, etc...

Other than that I do love the game, I just play online mainly just messing around getting killed by pretty much everyone else online but I do it in style haha

Online is awfully boring. I was really hoping that it would be fun for a long time, but it's far too repetitive. They promised it to be this awesome world, yet it's just a mess. Plus you get penalized for blowing up cars? But anyone can shoot you without getting penalized? Games weird.

Main story is alright, aside from the cliche ending, I really enjoyed Trevor, Michael and Franklin.

Just got this game(and my PS4) last week. Beat the story mode last night. I loved it.

Trevor is my favorite video game character by far now.
I love Trevor. I like switching to him after messing about with the other guys and seeing what mess he is in. Waking up naked at the top of the mountain, in a police chase etc.
Yea the actual game doesn't take too long to complete, its going and getting all those spaceship parts and stunt jumps etc that get me. I had it on 360 and finally got the game progression to 100%, then when I got my PS4 I just gave up on all the fiddly bits. But played a lot more online than with the 360, that's good fun.
