hi guys,

i am new to this forum so i hope i am asking this question in the right category.

i have a alcatel one touch 4033a device running on android 4.2 jelly bean. it is custom made for my sevice provider digicel and re branded as the digicel DL 700.

the phone is not even a month old. yesterday i wanted to get some pics from my pc to my phone so i connected to my usb and upon mounting, my pc said that the card needed to be formatted. so i formatted the card. i was using a lot of apps that where stored on the card so my device started lagging. i did a battery pull and it got stuck on the start up screen. also any time i connect a usb cable or charger it turns on by itself and still stuck on the boot screen. i tried factory reset and cache wipe from recovery mode but it still stays stuck at the bootscreen. i am new to android so i hope someone out there can help me. i there a way to do a clean os install from the sd card? and if yes where can i find the original factory android jelly bean software for my device

Welcome to the forums :)

How long have you let it try to boot up? Maybe giving it longer will result in a successful boot. I'm personally not familiar with your device but we do have some forums that are for your device I think. You may wish to start there. Mean time I will see if I can find someone who is familiar with your device / or situation and can offer you much better help than me. Again Welcome to the forums :)

sorry we don't have more replies right now. I am hoping its because of the weekend and that the experts for your device are enjoying family time. Wish I could do more to help but at the moment only thing i can think of is a factory reset. you'll loose everything but it may solve the issue and get it to boot who knows at this point. What is your warranty on the phone? Do you have one and could it be replaced if needed?

I've looked all over and cannot really find much for this device. I couldn't find a factory image. I was going to suggest a factory reset, but since you have already tried that, I don't have any other ideas.

My suggestion, especially since you've had the phone less than 30 days, would be to take it back to your carrier and get a replacement. You already formatted your sd card and attempted a factory reset, so you really have nothing to lose, and hopefully your replacement won't have the same issues.

x2. Take it back for a replacement post haste.

good luck

i recently experienced the same problem, what i did was go to alcatel website, locate your fone and click on the support tab, download and install "mobile upgrade" software and follow the instructions there! it take approximately 20 mins, you will loose all your data though but at least you got your phone back up and operational! its worked for me! good luck!!
