Help Priority mode not working correctly

Hi, I have a Moto G (1st gen) running 5.1. My problem is when I go to bed I don't want to be disturbed by text messages etc but do want the phone to actually ring if there's some sort of emergency. So when I put the phone into priority mode I have the message button set to off, but it doesn't work like this. If I send myself a text to test it whilst in priority mode it gives me an aural notification still. This shouldn't be happening. The only way I can turn off the text alert is to go into the standard message app itself and disable notifications in settings. This is a long-winded way of doing what should be quick and easy in priority mode.

If I put the phone into "none" mode then the texts don't make a noise, which is as it should be. What's wrong with my priority mode?

Can anyone help please?

You should have this menu somewhere under sound and notifications or wherever the priority mode settings are. Select so only calls get through priority mode.

Thanks Blu, but as I tried to point out in my first post the settings in here are as they should be, I've set messages to off. But still they make a noise. The phone is doing something it shouldn't.

Should I be clearing a cache or something? I've turned the phone on/off several times but it doesn't make any difference.
