MetroPCS phone with more than 2gb on board ram!

I had an F6 still do collecting dust...thats the worst phone ever...I got an Avant and it was only $100 bucks about a year ago...this phone is great...kit kat is dope...I think its better than lollipop... Not every Android OS is money just saying
Yes you can remove the battery...otg too...supports up to 64 GB on SD card...this is the best phone for 100$...its crazy but I had the F6 twice...bought it for 200 and some change and I lost it in a month bought another one for around 150...phone is horrible...sometimes its better to get a phone that suits you and the Avant does the job for only 100$ its like a mini S4...I love this phone
I agree. I still have mine. The only reason it's not my daily driver is because í want phablet screen.

What is your budget?

Metro uses T-Mobile's network...so it uses LTE Bands 2, 4, and 12. Band 12 is a new band which is just hitting devices this year(and probably not the low-end devices yet). It will be T-mo's primary band in certain markets.

Nexus devices are capable of Wi-fi calling(Nexus 6 and newer).
All MetroPCS phones released this year have band 12 already installed.

Update and addendum, THAT LGF6 has gone off the deep end!

It started doing screwy stuff (besides running out of onboard ram)! It WAS running fine, but today I noticed I had no Cell signal where I had 3 bars earlier. I decided to do a hard reset (POWER and Vol DOWN) as this was the cure for missing keyboard a few days before.

ANYWAY, I do a hard reset, still no cell signal (RED X) but now the LGF6 constantly reboots after getting to Home screen. Total time in reboot cycle, about 90 secs! And additional subsequent HARD reboots do not change anything in regards to the rebooting or the no cell signal issue!

I tried to use the LG support tool, to reload factory image, but it say error in reloading, meanwhile not affecting the 90 sec reboot going on with the LGF6! Another firmware reloading program says it cant see the phone but yet My Lenovo laptop see's it fine and lists it in windows explorer as LGMS500!

So how can I reload the factory firmware to stop the rebooting and hopefully fix the no cell signal problem or is this a hardware issue?

thanks

BTW I'm gong to get the OnePlus X, just waiting in line for it!

When it comes to the OnePlus X, be wary of the LTE Bands. It offers LTE bands 1, 2, 4, 5, 7, 8.

But it has one major flaw that keeps me from recommending this phone to anyone living in the US. It's an unlocked phone, which OnePlus advertises as compatible with LTE networks on both AT&T and T-Mobile. However, the OnePlus X lacks support for AT&T's most widely used LTE frequency. Further, it doesn't have support for a frequency that T-Mobile is rapidly transitioning its network to. (It almost goes without saying, but the OnePlus X doesn't work at all with Verizon and Sprint's networks, and it is not advertised as being capable of doing so.)

The OnePlus X is a nice phone but the bands for the US variant were a very poor decision on their part and have really deterred people from buying the phone, and rightfully so.

Thanks scary, this LGF6 is getting worse by the day and just when i was ready to sell pencils on the corner for the extra 100 to buy the 1+X it now appears that it may not be a good idea according to confed's update!

From . . http://pocketnow.com/2015/11/11/oneplus-x-review-simple-beauty

"Perhaps more seriously, it also omits LTE Band 12 and Band 17 support, which significantly affects 4G coverage on both T-Mobile and AT&T "

Hmmmm, but what if I don't do a lot up heavy data xfering? Do I really need LTE? or are these bands for JUST 4G as well?

And it seems as though the camera/video is lacking as well . . .

"Like the OnePlus 2, the OnePlus X features a 13MP camera sensor – but the similarities end there. Rather than sticking with its predecessor’s OmniVision sensor, OnePlus has opted for a Samsung ISOCELL module (Samsung 3M2 CMOS, the same sensor used by the Oppo R7) featuring an f/2.2 aperture and no optical image stabilization. The result is a camera that produces adequate results in bright light – and that’s about as good as it gets. All told, the camera is probably the weakest aspect of the OnePlus X. This is no great surprise given its price point; it’s tough for most OEMs to get the camera right on even the most expensive smartphones."

Thanks once again all for your input, and it looks like I got to make a decision quick on replacing this LGF6!

I'm using an LG G stylo right now. $149 from Metro. 2GB ram and 16GB storage. 720p screen.2900 mah battery. Runs 5.1.1 with a Snapdragon 410.

The new Alcatel on Metro has a Snapdragon 210, and is quite a bit slower.

If you're looking only at Metro in store phones, go with the Stylo.
Also, I previously had a Nexus 5, and while it was faster, battery life was way worse.

Looking to upgrade from my LGF6 MS500 to a model that has more than 2gb of onboard ram. MONEY is an issue here so going right to the top is not feasible.

thanks in advance

Only one Metro Branded phone has more then 2GB of ram, being the S6, if you want a BYOD phone you can get a LG G3 32GB with 3GB of ram for about $180-$200 on swappa, or a Note 3, also 3GB for a little more.

Unfortunately you're not going to find a budget phone with over 2GB of RAM, at least not yet. The cheapest three I know of with 3GB RAM:

OnePlus One for $299 (doesn't have band 2 LTE)
OnePlus X for $250
OnePlus 2 for $329

Long time no talk to Kate!!!

Don't forget the T-mobile G3 32GB $180 on swappa, the Note 3 $200ish on swappa, Even the Nexus 6 is going in the mid $2ish range.

Not advertising from them, just bought alot of phones recently

Again thanks to all. I went with a used Avant(Thank you Jesse Banks) from eBay (only 2gb but quad core cpu instead of duo on myF6) for only 50 bucks! (Easy on my budget for now).
What a world of difference between the F6 and the Avant! Like going from a peddle car to a Ferrari! Wow
The OnePlus X did not have bands 12 or 17 the two most commonly used (especially for LTE) by the major carriers here in the states MetroPCS,Verizon and ATT!
thanks again

I owned the Zmax (short time) didn't like the screen, not that bright or vibrant. Is it still stuck on KitKat ?

The LG Stylo is very nice for the price. LG UX 4.0 Lolipop 5.1.1 2GB ram 16GB storage plus SD slot.
Band 12 and VoLTE enabled.

Money is an issue, so don't expect more then 2GB ram

How much storage is available to the user? My phone is an HTC 626 s, it says 8gb, but I actually only get like 3.75 GB, it sucks.

I know this is old, but as far as an official ota for the zmax still on kitkat, however I did root mine and put cm 12 on it, so it's now on 5.1. I rooted my stylo and that's on katana rom 5.1. It depends on what the person is comfortable with, and the dev support the phone has. Sorry I'm a little off topic, but just a pov I had reading through this thread. Thank you, I hope this helps.
Anthony.
