Files transfer from pc to 6P?

So when I connect my 6P to my pc, to transfer some files from the pc onto the phone, its shows it as connected but wont let me open the phone. Why isn't it that simple? What do I do, and keep it simple please. Thanks.

Ok so now it works- you have to watch your phone, as there is a quick pop up that asks you what you want to do, and you can then choose transfere of files. Easy, as it should be, but I was watching the pc not my phone! Doh!

Its pretty simple and straight forward through windows. The issue you are encountering is likely that android has changed USB MTP menu options. By default the option is 'USB charges only'. You need to expand your notifications and click on the usb options notification. Then select file transfer (MTP). After that you should be able to see Nexus 6p in windows file explorer and expand it to drag & drop files.

Or you can bypass the Windows driver issue if you have one and use an app called "File Manager". It works whether your rooted or un-rooted. It has an option that is clearly shown of the front page called "PC Sync" It is very fast trading files both ways and just simply works!! No need for any USB crap at all :)

I don't see PC Sync anywhere on it.
when you refer someone to an APP, you should provide a link to that APP.
There are too damn many apps in Play Store that all have the same exact name. Which is a major PITA for readers trying to find the same app as talked about.

are you referring to the ASUS File Manager?

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asus.filemanager

what I do see is the ability to Check Mark each file. what a PITA

and then select a folder to send those files to.
Once that is done, the files transfer at network speed. That is nice, but I would like to find the "Sync Feature".

Cheers, all sorted now.

Mine wasnt letting me transfer files via drop and drag in windows explorer. When i plugged it in, a popup on my phone asked what i was doing (or swipe down, select usb charging, and change it to something else) and i selected data transfer. It still wasnt working. None of the default android storage folders would appear (DCIM, Video, etc) and when I dragged a file over it would tell me the phone was disconnected or not available.

I got it to work by going into Developer Options, and changing "Select USB Configuration" to "MPT (Media Transfer Protocol).

Now it works fine dragging and dropping audio, video and images from my PC to the phone.
