I have a Galaxy S5 plus, running Android 5.01. It uses power when turned OFF (not standby), losing 15-20%, according to the battery monitor, overnight.
After extensive tests, I have found this is due to the dreaded Google Play Services update. When factory reset, no power loss when off, until the Google Play Services update downloads and applies itself (there is no way to stop this). Then 15-20% per loss overnight, (sometimes even showing the WiFi as 'on'). If I remove the battery overnight - no power loss.
(this is not a wifi etc issue, I have turned overything off, even putting it into flight mode before powering off)
Power use in use/standby is not TOO bad, but using battery when off is driving me crazy - what is it doing, monitoring me? How CAN it be on when I have turned it off? It is not a hardware fault as it works fine before Google Play services updates.....
Any help welcomed!
