I have a
LG Sunset L33L
that i rooted with kingroot and have a couple questions
1) i cant seem to find a custom recovery
2) can i update from 5.0.1 to 5.1.1
3)would like a custom rom
4) how do i uninstall some google apps i dont want

There aren't any custom recoveries yet. The boot loader is locked. There are many apps that can remove all of the bloatware. I used ROM Toolbox Pro. It's up to Straight Talk to release an update to 5.1.1 because you're not updating anything without the boot loader unlocked.

is there a chance since its straight talk the boot loader will not ever get unlocked. and since it is locked was it even worth it to root it

You can't install a custom ROM but if you're successfully rooted with SuperSU installed you should - should - be able to install and run Titannium Backup (Pro version is worth its weight in gold). With it you can "freeze" bloatware instead of removing them. Bloatware is installed into the SYSTEM partition, meaning that regular users can't uninstall them. Freezing the apps frees up vital phone memory and eliminates the risk of messing up any system app files, which may render something else inoperable.

ty very much I have titanium backup pro installed i will give that a shot i dont have SuperuserSu i used kingroot. i would love to switch to SuperuserSU but not sure how since kingroot is the only successful way of rooting my phone

Hi i am an android dev with the same device and currently looking into a solution for the locked bootloader i have changed kingroot out for super su and i need a guinea to try a method that may allow us to have a custom recovery and roms i already started on a custom stock rom but as of now there is no way to flash it for other users

Hey if you can get hold of me i know how to flash roms and recoverys to this device with bootloader still locked. My e mail is jfaulk1978@gmail.com
I flashed twrp on it but it was for the leon so didnt work but im sure we can modify the strings. I made a backup of the stock recovery and flashed it back. I need someone to work with to resolve this issue. Also, if you backup the entire phone and copy all files to a computer then copy those to an lg power and flash you can turn the power to a sunset which the only difference is the power is 3g and the sunset is 4g lte. Meaning the power has the same hardware but lacking software that the sunset has. Anyway get at me and lets get to building a stable work a round.

This is a tad bit off topic but I have been trying forever to get my lg sunset to be an active wifi hotspot. Has anyone had any luck without using a custom img? I also use kingroot to root my device.

It might be possible, but since i don't own that phone i would have to have someway to look at the build prop.
