BlackBerry PRIV "I've Got Mine" Thread

Still setting up,but, for those curious, feel free to ask me anything regarding the device.
I'm new to the BlackBerry scene,so,I have zero experience to relate BB Services/etc.....,but,I'll try to be as helpful as possible for those curious/interested.

Initial impressions,very nice hardware,love the display & feel-in-hand.
That's about as far as I am right now, still setting up my Google apps/accounts,etc........

Hard to believe the lack of interest here. Please post a full review.
I'll put my 2¢ review up once I've got acclimated.
Regarding the BB apps/ecosystem, I'm sure it's all that & a bag of chips, the folks over @ CrackBerry seem to genuinely like BB World.
Of course, there's always the fringe fanatic minority, true in all things, but, most seem open to the melding of the two ecosystems.

Anyway, back to this device :
The hardware is just about perfect for me.
1) Just the right size,a Front-Firing speaker.
2) Curved AMOLED Display.
3) Expandable Storage, 'nuff said.....
4) Decent battery size (3410mAh) & so far, most excellent battery life. QI/PMA Charging is always welcome & works flawlessly. Quick Charge 2.0 takes it from 25% to fully charged in 1 hr, not bad. Haven't timed 0-50% yet.......
5) Hardware keyboard, not enough time to get acclimated, like the backlighting & screen-scroll feature though.
In all honesty,I could take or leave the hardware keyboard, would trade the space for even more battery capacity at the drop of a hat,you can never have too much capacity.

One nice feature, especially since this will probably never see root:
ALL of the T-Mobile apps can be either uninstalled or totally disabled, so, no snooping with the Carrier IQ Garbage going on here.
All I really need now is a workable Ad Blocking scheme system wide.
I tried using Ad Guard, but, it was FUBARing phone calls, I can hear the other party, but, they can't hear me. Probably fixable, not enough time to get with Ad Guard to troubleshoot.

Outside of the BlackBerry apps, it's pretty much stock Android (5.1.1).
One thing I really miss from my LG V10 (or any recent LG device for that matter) is Immersive Mode:
I've tried a couple apps that attempt to mimic it,but, all they succeeded in was crashing/freezing up the entire phone.

Overall,I'm quite pleased,I'd rate the whole (brief) experience a 9 on a 1-10 scale.

Hard to believe the lack of interest here. Please post a full review.

After eight days & three handsets,I'm back into the LG V10:
All three had an intermittent call bug,the caller could not here me at all.
I tried every imaginable scenario/settings tweaks/etc..,SIM Card replacement/Signal refreshes & the bug would eventually find its way back.

Most any other bug,I could tolerate until an update, but, phone calls,as few as I make & receive, has to work w/o worry/etc....

A bad batch?
Maybe, but, all three were mfg'ed on different dates,so,I pretty much ruled that out, although still possible.

Bottom line:
My buyer's remorse period is up in six days & I don't have the time to try phone #4,so,I went back to the perfectly fine V10 & had my Jump-On-Demand reset,so I still have one left in the 1 yr period.

I hope for other BB Priv owners that this is just an isolated event.I really wanted to stay in this phone, the hardware & all other aspects of the phone was just about perfect.

I was thinking about getting one to see how it goes! I've always enjoyed bb!

I've never had the occasion/need for the BB ecosystem, but, thought I'd give it a try.
If you or your job uses it,definitely check out the BB Forums (CrackBerry),just to make sure there's nothing missing/can't be sideloaded to suit your needs.

As for the hardware,it's just about perfect.
I was looking to stay in this phone at least until fall, when the Note6/New LG V Series devices arrive.

I'd really like to see a version of this phone without the physical keyboard,or a horizontal variant.
I still recommend at least popping in a store for a look,it's a nice phone.

Also on my wish list (it'll never happen):
An unlocked version,without the BB apps,for root/ROMS.

I just swooped one up, to use for work. I like the device overall, but not as much as my Mate 8. Still trying to figure out if I have a defective one or not. This thing heats up a lot, whenever I use for an extended period of time. It cools off, once I put it down and let it, but that won't really work for checking work emails. And battery drain is really quick, except for when on standby. Such a different experience, considering my Mate 8 lasts me 2-3 days, without even needing a charge and the standby battery life is ridiculously good. Whenever I use the phone, it stays cool, also. If the heating battery issue doesn't get better, I'll just go in and ask for a replacement. For work purposes, the PRIV is really nice and I actually enjoy blackberry's hub.

I'm toying the idea of trying the Priv one more time. But stuck in the same boat. Only one jump left.
So hard to do the Priv when my V10 has better camera and audio. And also quicker from the first experience with Priv.
And than the keyboard and hub of Passport is better than Priv, but the Passport is slower and buggy.

Ahhhh why can't they just make a V10 Passport hybrid?

We'll that was short lived. Borrowed my wife's PRIV for 24 hours and now I know why I had my V10 while I toyed with my Passport from time to time.

OMG..... I don't know what BlackBerry was thinking when releasing the PRIV as a final Product.

It's alright, but for me and compared to the Passport or V10, I don't think it's worth $700. My wife likes it though. Time to give it back. Lol

Yup. I'm just waiting for either the Alcatel Idol Pro 4 to be released (hopefully soon), so that I can jump out of the PRIV. There isn't really anything out now or coming out anytime soon that compels me to take an early jump out of the PRIV. I initially liked the thought of what the PRIV would be for work purposes, but after over 1 month, I feel like it doesn't really provide me with anymore than other devices would, especially for work purposes. It's part of the reason I'm considering a Windows 10 Mobile phone, since my main concern for that line would be browsing and microsoft office uses.

In the meantime, I'm enjoying the Mate 8 like crazy for my regular use and personal line!
