Rant Thread - What really grinds your gears?

My wife introduced me to the yummy salad world. She makes great salads! Before we met, I thought a salad was lettuce and diced tomatoes. Most of her salads have zero lettuce... mmmmmmmm.

My favorite salad with lettuce is a taco salad. Spiced ground beef, lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced onions, jalapeno slices, salsa, shredded cheddar, and Frito corn chips. Pretty simple and pretty good.

Granted, there's very little traffic at five in the morning on Sunday, but traffic rules exist for a reason!

Just watched someone pause slightly before blowing through the red light at a major intersection, then saw them do the same thing a mile up the road turning left to go to work.

I'm pretty sure that person turned down the same road I do, which means they likely work in the same hangar where I work.

The cops and sheriff don't obey them. They haul in the AM. We had to be at the ice rink at 4:30 AM for school figures.
The officials would just fly by.

Traffic lights don't work, either. I think sitting for 5 minutes after you hit the detector is enough. The Kawasaki with 2 up wouldn't budge a detector, either. My Spitfire wasn't heavy enough for some of the old treadles.
We always knew where the loop was. The Vulcan worked for traffic signal companies.

I'm not a fan of all the special parking spots at the little mall by me.
- Compact cars only (I don't know if my car is, so I can't park there.
- Mathnasium parking only
- Buffalo Wild wings pickup only (can't park there, since I'm eating inside)
- Dry cleaner parking only
- Ice cream shop only, etc.

When you actually do find a spot, either 5 other people are hoping to nab it first, or the cars on either side of you are about an inch away from yours - or you have to park across the street in the grocery store parking lot.

Whoever designed this lot figured out how to cram the maximum number of cards in the lot, but it sure isn't very user friendly!

What do you drive?
I drive a Honda Civic. Is it compact? Beats me, but there are way smaller cars than mine (my daughter drives a tiny Chevy - a Spark or something - hers is really "compact" compared to my Civic)

Even if mine qualifies as a compact, it's hard to park in any of the spots in this particular lot, it's always half full of ginormous trucks & SUV's so it's really hard to fit into any spot.

When I parked there this afternoon, I was pretty sure the SUV next to me wouldn't be able to get in on his driver's side, & when I opened my door I had a really small space to shimmy out the opening & avoid denting the vehicle next to me.

I have a couple of shopping centers near me like that...they were built in the '80's before the rise of the Huge SUVs and all of the parking spaces are tight. Also there isn't much room to back out of a space either.

My small rant...

Personally I have nothing against owners of 'regular' SUVs. My father owns a Jeep Wrangler (the Jeep looking jeep) and my boss owns a Jeep Liberty. I have friends that own Honda SUVs or Toyota SUVs, and Jeep Cherokees, etc...

But I absolutely cannot stand the oversized Cadillac Escalades, and Chevy Tahoes, ect.

I cannot see around them in traffic, and I cannot Park anywhere near them.
