Which Printer ?

What printer do you use to print from you smartphone ?

I'm looking for a good printer that I can use to print from my Note 4 and Note 3 (and also from desktop computers, laptops and tablets). After checking out many printers, my first choice would be the Epson WF (Wide Format) 7620. I want to be able to scan, print, copy and fax, and also do wide format (mostly for Family History charts).

I can't really give you a figure, but I've had it for about 8 months now and I've only replaced the cartridges once. I am a graphic artist so while my page count is lower, my coverage is much MUCH higher than your average user. It seems to be on par with most multifunction inkjets out there in terms of quality.

I'm looking forward to giving the Espon WF 7620 a good workout ..... I will mostly be using it for family history, personal letters, documents, printing out thousands of pages of my personal journal, along with hundreds of family history charts ..... and also scanning lots of old pictures to send out, hoping that people can help to identify some of the old photos .....

Seems like the next step up from the Epson WF 7620 would be a "One Function" higher quality printer, that would either be dedicated to printing out only photos, or only black and white documents, or only work as a printer.

I like the multi-function features, large paper format (13x19) which will be very useful for printing out large family history charts, and also scanning 11x17. Does it scan 13x19 size documents ?

I had a Brother large format multi-function printer for 4 or 5 years until it finally died on me. I had no complaints. While the Epson is newer and more advanced, with these kinds of devices everything is a compromise. It will never be as good as independent devices and if one part breaks it makes the whole thing a brick.

The upside is that they are pretty cheap and they do work as advertised. If you need a scanner and a fax and a printer with wifi and usb and don't need the highest quality, super high volume (recommended duty cycle is 1,300 pages/month) or the fastest speed, then this is a perfect fit.

I might get a second printer to use for printing only (no copy/scan/fax), and Black only, and use the Epson WF 7620 mostly for printing large family history charts and scanning pictures .....
